Scribd is excellent

Scribd is excellent. They offer an excellent selection of audiobooks and ebooks. I listen to as much as five different books a month (playing at up to1.8 speed) and read regularly and widely in addition to that. Ebooks, magazines, the lot. So, that's good value for money. Very. I noticed that many people complain about the difficulty of unsubscribing and that led me to be hesitant to subscribe at first. So after a first month free trial I ended my subscription, just to see what gives. No ...

Charged me after I cancelled free trial.

Charged me after I cancelled free trial. Edit: Complaint #2455827. Followed up quickly and resolved the issue with a refund. Appreciate the way they handled everything quickly and with ease on my end.

Disgustingly dishonest practices

Disgustingly dishonest practices. I went with this site because I didn’t want to go with Amazon but I sincerely regret it now. Not only do they lead you to believe they’ve cancelled your subscription when you haven’t by adding in a shady second confirm button, but they also stated after a 30 day trial that the charge would be £8.99. I have now been charged £10.79 for two months I haven’t even used as I thought I’d cancelled I’m livid, I don’t have the money to throw away like this!

Found a charge of $9.99 on my credit…

Found a charge of $9.99 on my credit card. don't even know how they got the number. Tried to contact them by email, you don't get to speak to a person. Got an email response that they were looking in to it. but, then crickets. Scribd finally got back to me and are refunding the $9.99.

DO NOT go there

DO NOT go there. I thought it was too good to be true, ALL of the books I wanted were in their library. I saved them all and started listening away. I noticed after the first week of the free trial that the 60+ books I saved started dwindling away. By the 2nd week, I had TWO books left in my saved list, with everything else available the day after my billing cycle. Go figure. This is a limited "unlimited" library and I wish it were a better experience as there aren't many alternatives for ...

They stole my money.

They are horrible and have predatory behaviours. I live in canada and this US based company decided it would be ok to take my debit info without my permission I never made an account and had never even heard of this company but they charged me for their crap subscription that I couldn't even use.

Never sign up!

Terrible website, a scam. Very dishonest, very difficult to cancel. The cancellation process is set up so that you think you've cancelled, but you actually haven't. I've "cancelled" (or so I thought) at least 2-3 times by now, and this keeps happening. I'll be contacting my credit card company to file chargebacks for these unauthorized fees. Completely not worth it. Scribd acts like they have special exclusive resources, but there are so many better websites out there, just google it. All ...

Borderline scam

Deceitful, it is very difficult dishonest method to unsubscribe. The site tricks you into thinking you have cancelled your subscription then a month later another fee is taken from your account. You then have to go through the whole process again to find there is an extra step they try to hide from you. Just dishonest and not worth it.

Excellent Customer Service

When I reviewed my last credit card statements, I noticed that Scribd had charged me with a monthly fee for a subscription I hadn't requested. I asked for a reimbursement, and my request was processed by Mr G. Exavier, who settled the issue within two days.
