I got a Scribd membership which I immediately cancelled just to download a manual for a 15-year-old bread machine. Scribd had no intellectual rights to this material, but still can profit off of hosting material they don't own due to the patchwork enforcement of such laws and the moral and legal grey area they operate in by charging for access to public domain and private works. I hope this morally bankrupt company ends of literally bankrupt as well.

BUYER BEWARE

After reading the reviews here, I cancelled immediately my subscription. Indeed they do charge one month, which is not fair. I'm guessing that they do promise one month free trial, but don't actually promise free cancellation. This is not good practice and it's costing the Scribd team on bad reviews. I'd suggest you change your ways. You can have my 9 Euros, but you've lost me as a customer, as well as my circle of friends and family. Don't play with words

Scribd has been charging me twice monthly.

Scribd has been charging me twice the full amount since I subscribed. After a year I just realized how they drained my account. I emailed them with all my account details and reporting this problem and they told me that I have created two accounts using a similar email that had a typo. Of course I have not a second email so no way I would have possibly confirmed any additional account. Moreover they were charging my only bank account twice every month. They refused to refund me for the 10 ...

PLS DONT USE SCRIBD

Dont use Scribd. Ive used my credit card for a free trial and i thought Ive cancelled it but obviously I didnt. They have been charging me subscriptions every month for 9 months now for an account I didnt even use.Ive looked up on my Scribd account and there were no signs of my credit card payment history or a sign of me using Premium account. Ive contacted them about the situation and requested a refund for all 9 months because I didnt even use Scribd and Ive cancelled my trial months ago. ...

Scribd, free trial, Yeah in your dreams.

Started a free trial with Scribd about a year ago. About three months into the deal, I asked them to stop billing me and that I no longer wanted their service. A friendly sounding representative to me "no problem," and took my information. I was billed again the following month. Ive lost track of how long they have billed me and how many times Ive visited their sight or emailed them. It seems that all their energy is used to repel and refute people wanting to cancel their service. They even ...

GIVE ME MY REFUND!!! YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE CHARGING PEOPLE WITHOUT GIVING THEM A NOTICE!

Scrbd is a total nightmare!!! They posted on their facebook page that to help people amidst this crisis (CoVid), they are offering people a free access to the site. I thought they are here to help. So i signed up for free. But theyre too clever to require my paypal account. Last night they charged me with new subscription renewal WITHOUT GIVING ME A PRIOR NOTICE SO I COULD CANCEL BEFORE THEY CHARGE!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I THOUGHT YOU'RE HELPING PEOPLE OUT THEN WHY ARE SCAMMING AND ...

Bad experience

I have a very bad experience with Scribd. It will allow you to sign up for a 30-day free trial, but if you decide to end the 30-day free trial and cancel your subscription, they will tell you that it will be canceled in a month. I assume that all those who have already written here have the same experience and that after a month they were charged a monthly fee. Apparently it is written somewhere in terms of use, so they are legally covered, but it is still very unfair. It is like signing an ...

Amazing

The app is amazing, so many good audiobooks and ebooks. The quality of them is also fantastic. I had an issue with my payment increasing so I sent them an email and they responded very quickly explaining that I was being charged the same amount in US dollars but because I was in the UK the price was going up because of the exchange rate being so bad for us at the minute. Excellent customer service!

Exceeded all expectation.

So happy to have this subscription. Love the variety of ebooks and audio. Found so many books I am glad to read.
