I cancelled my Scribd account in… October/10/2019

I cancelled my Scribd account in October and the charges stopped. However, in January they started charging me again for every month till may. When I emailed them about it, they said they could not find the charge or my account despite me sending them the email, username, last 4 digits of my card, and even a screenshot of my scribd account. Then they asked for the expiration date of my card as well as the first 6 digits of the card! It feels very shady and I have since disputed the issue ...

SCRIBD IS THE WORST THEY ARE A SCAM! DO NOT TRUST!

I did a free trail, and I CANCELED IT. Well I have been charged 4 times, by this stupid company that legit scams all these poor students, including myself. I have tried to login to my accounts and of course I can't, BECAUSE I DELETED IT. I have contacted them so many times and they answered, oh yeah they did. Guess what, once I told them about my card being charged monthly, they stopped responding and haven't responded since! Oh and they never game me my money back. Their website is ...

Bait and Switch - Thanks for your email address, now here's the FEE

Any company in this day and age that uses a bait screen to get you to log on and give your email address then switch to a $$$ paid service are a bunch of 1990's con artists who don't deserve a cent.

The meaning of "Your membership has been cancelled and will end on 6/7/20".

Hello Sir/Madam, I have cancelled my subscription and on the website it states "Your membership has been cancelled and will end on 6/7/20". Does this mean that you all would charge after June 7th even though I have not activated the Free Trial subscription? Thank you

Deceptive

Deceptive. Be careful. Would give no stars if I could. I signed up for a free trial and cancelled it because they didn't have the book I was after. At least I thought I cancelled it. Three months later I realised the subscription was still current and it turns out that you need to select 'cancel subscription' on a series of three different pages to fully complete the cancellation and it's not obvious that that's the case unless you scroll down to the end of the page and read the small text. ...

Awful!

Poor customer service. Unwilling to help educators and students during this difficult time of being out of school. Unfortunately, many students do not have access to credit cards and their “30 day” free trial has ended. Every other company is willing to work with teachers, especially right now. But not this company. They will do nothing for students except make them pay.

Updating payment details

I lost the credit card I was using to pay for scribed and accidentally forgot to update with a my new one - after trying to update it would not process - after getting an email address to communicate with them I am told due to the nature of the decline they will only update after I send them a photo of my card and a bank statement with a charge from scribd on it. This seem ridiculous - Netflix, Stan and iTunes let you update straight away and use their systems - why on earth would you go ...

Impossible to cancel?

I have been trying to change my password so I can cancel my subscription, but the link they send me doesn't work. There is no phone number to call that I can find. I don't even use this service and am tired of being charged with it. Can you say "inferior customer support?"

it is now my second review on here…

it is now my second review on here because they seem to only communicate if you reach out to them on trustpilot. i opened a new support case as suggested by the reply to my last comment on here, however i haven't heard anything for 5 days, and it says "solved" when i check the status, even though there has been no correspondence whatsoever about the issue. support ticket #2671390. their customer service is appalling

Expect Nothing from Scribd

Discovered a fraudulent charge from Scribd on my March statement. I emailed them immediately (because there is no phone # to contact them) and they responded within a day. I sent them all of the info that I could (amount & date, last 4 digits of my card), but they stated they could not my account, so I needed to send them my confirmation email. Well since I never SIGNED up for the service, I did not have a confirmation email! I requested the name and phone number of someone who could ...
