a total rip off or serious company? About to see
Dear Monika, I quote from your last mail: “I can see that your Scribd account under the email address xxxx.com is a free account that did not have a subscription associated with it, so I am happy to help explain the recent charge you saw and answer any other questions you may have. ……………………………………………… Also, I’ve reviewed your account, and I see that you’ve filed a chargeback for the transaction you want refunded. Because of this filing, any refund due will be handled through the ...

False advertising re unlimited books…
False advertising re unlimited books for 30 days. Admittedly I am a speedreader and can read up to 5 books a day as I am disabled and can't do a lot BUT it is unfair to so limit the books I read after less than a week when subscription is for 30 days. I prefer science fiction and fantasy but every month I subscribe, Scribd restricts the WHOLE GENRES so I get less and less to read. This month (Aug 2023) I got only 8 books to read and 3 audiobooks in less than 1 week before 90% of the books I ...

I was charged every month since September and after my trial period was ended, without single use, without single warning.
I stand behind every word. Can't say for certain but I'm 90 percent sure that I have discontinued the trial via my mobile app. I thought I'm alone in this when I filled for a refund. Came here and couldn't believe my eyes. Don't know how it slipped my notice for so long. The funny thing is that I finally did notice it when I returned to their website to actually make a real premium account because my academic year has started recently and let's be honest the document database of Scribd is ...

They steal your money
Signed up for the free trial, used it for maybe an hour then cancelled. The stealing charmers charged me £10 anyway. Avoid! They replied and said they would refund but never did. DO NOT USE.

Avoid Avoid Avoid - Never able to find anything of much value
Don't waste your time. There's not much to see or find on Scribd. There are a lot of cheaper or free alternatives out there. And whatever everyone is complaining about in regard to the payments - they are right. Sometimes it may be the user's fault for not cancelling the free trial, but the way they've done their cancellation process on their website... makes it tricky to cancel.

They sell your details on. DON’T SIGN UP!
DON’T SIGN UP. I signed up for a trial period with Scribd at the beginning of the week, and since then I’ve received hundreds of junk Mail emails. They sold my details on without my permission!! Worst thing is I try to unsubscribe to these junk emails and they don’t cancel. The emails just keep coming. Disgraceful. Don't sign up. Update: I raised a support ticket #5054309 but the process of raising the ticket was pretty rubbish so I do not hold out any hope.

Awful company
Awful company that is very sneaky in charging you money. When you click cancel subscription, it doesn't actually cancel your subscription. It takes you back to the homepage where you have to scroll all the way down to find a tiny button to truly cancel your subscription. It took me 10 minutes to figure out how to do this... truly despicable.

Scammy free trial
Scammy free trial They promise to email you before your trial ends, which they did not do. They also automatically charge your google pay if you login with google. The content I was trying to access was also not complete (only contained the title page).
