I think overall it would be a great service if the "unlimited" part of it was true. I find that a lot of the books in my reading list become unavailable until my next payment date after I have read maybe a book or two.

I don't understand the bad reviews.... this is appalling! I used Scribd for the past 4years, with no issue. Compared with other services out there .....you can't have things for free, and nowadays all online content is asking for payment details, so please stop being a complete exaggeration when it comes to online payment - if you don't want your payment details out there - then go to a bookstore and purchase the hardcover for Christ sake. After having registered with…

After having registered with scribd.com, I tried submitting my 2 different credit cards twice but they denied my subscription after submitting my credit card details with final authentication. After seeing the negative reputation I am concerned that the site may now misuse my credentials. please don't do that.

This is a scam

This is a scam, they continued to take payments out for months despite having cancelled my subscription. I requested a refund several times and received no response.

So far so good, but I'm a bit leary regarding the billing.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing Scribe as now I'm worried they will charge me again when my subscription runs out. They did charge my CC for a year, but I was late in canceling, so my bad. However, presently I have enjoyed my service and the material provided by Scribd is in my wheelhouse. The app can be glitchy and will stall, and even stop, so far this is my only complaint. I don't have that problem with Chirp, which is excellent. It remains to be seen if they try to ...

Scammers and Thieves

Cancelled subscription and they took another payment out. I googled how to stop this from happening again and it said to delete your account. So I deleted my account. They took another payment. I went to their website to find some contact information and I they have is Chat powered by Artificial Intelligence. Reading Book is not available

I've been a user for about a year, but the same situation keeps repeating itself, I have a book that I've read and suddenly it's available in a few weeks. Otherwise, I have to wait another 25 days to continue reading, I'm not interested anymore, obviously I want to pay for another month so that I could finish the book. I have cancelled my subscription finally! When I got the free trial it said they would email me if I would like to keep going, but I have had no email and have not known that I have been paying them for three months in a row. now on the 29th August, my subscription has been renewed automatically, yet I have cancelled now but my money is gone!
