Prefer zero stars. Cancelled before free trial ended. Have been charged for three months so far. They owe me $29.97 and don't accept phone calls. They don't acknowledge complaints online. Basic rip off. During free period I downloaded one document. The hassle canceling was not worth even looking at the site.

Charged subscription fee after cancelation

Like many of the reviews. I was also charged twice after my cancellation. The worst part is on my account it shows I have no membership active. So essentially, I’m paying for virtually nothing. Please refund the amount I paid ASAP. This is such a huge inconvenience. Please fix your system. My ticket number is 3023207. UPDATE: They have responded to my email after a day or so and found out the problem. They also have quickly refunded the amount charged on my account.

Great Concept But Poor Audio Quality??

I love the concept of Scribd, and would give it 5 stars, but the quality of the audiobooks seems really poor?? They sound tinny and slightly distorted. Anyone else had that issue? It's really disappointing as I listen to lots of audiobooks and would otherwise spend a fortune on something like audible. Thanks for your reply Scribd - to be honest it's all the audiobooks I have listened to but specifically Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. Listen to the intro music and introduction - you can really hear it

Charged after cancellation, so have gone through those screens again. Please can you check your system and organise a refund for me. Update 30th Nov 20: refunded.

Double-charged for months.

I didn't realize Scribd was having issues until I saw someone talk about it on youtube. I checked my account and lo-and-behold I've been double charged for months. Same account on the same phone but two subscriptions charged. This is obviously not an isolated incident. I've read other reviews and Scribd's response is appalling. Instead of blaming customers perhaps check your system instead of saying "that could never happen." It obviously is happening. I will not be returning.

I wish I could give this a lower score

I wish I could give this a lower score. I signed up for a scribd account and after listening to a measly TWO audiobooks suddenly they're almost all unavailable to me until the next billing cycle. I get two audiobooks a month then I get throttled? Honestly, what's the point? I can pay slightly more with Audible and then I get to keep the books. ETA: after scribd's response I just wanted to clarify: I finished both audiobooks, it's not like I was checking out books and not listening to them. ...

Theft

Outright theft. I signed up for a free 30-day account (no charge if you cancel within 30 days). Within ONE HOUR I cancelled my account. Fast forward a month and these charlatans have taken £9.99 from my Paypal balance. I have emailed customer service and had an automated response back but nobody has replied and no refund of the theft has occured. Similar to these MANY other 1-star reviews, I was charged for a Scribd subscription AFTER I had already cancelled it. Shady business practices. I signed up for a trial period to give them a shot and was hoping there would be a wider selection than there was, it turned out it wasn't for me and I moved on with no ill will towards the company.
