Most of the reading material are copies…

Most of the reading material are copies and PDF files of published books, documents and other materials, which may be in violation of copyright laws. Concerned with aiding and abetting criminal activity, I cancelled the subscription within the 30 day window. For the past 4 months, Scribd has continued to charge my credit card, and the credit card company labeled the activity as fraud.

Scribed has been charging my account for 2 months. I reached out to them and after several back and forth emails they agreed to refund ONLY 1 month. I never, ever signed up for their service. I never used their service. They are a terrible!

Warning! Opaque and misleading! This is a subscription trap

Warning!! SCRIBD is a company that uses fraud methods focused on obtaining consumers' personal information (namely, their credit or debit card details). The business uses sales technique known as "subscription traps" where we, the consumers are misled into signing up for a subscription to their services/products often (and in my case) without knowing it nor wanting it. SCRIBD encourages readers of third part companies to access documents to upload and read for free, by signing-up for a FREE ...

This is my second review

This is my second review! Why can can someone from Scribd respond to my review within 24 hours, but no one can get back to me about my issues for up to 12 days?! This is a fraudulent scam! I just realized this company has been withdrawing a monthly fee from Amex card every month for over two years. I cannot cancel the subscription because I have no idea what email is attached to this. I never created an Acct, nor have I ever signed up for any kind of a free trial. They are stealing! This ...

An honest to god scam

An honest to god scam. I have no clue how they haven't been investigated by the Feds for fraud. Based on what I have seen, my personal opinion is that when a person opens an account they make another one without your knowledge and copy over your credit card information so they can charge you twice. I would love to be proven wrong with an actual answer, but unfortunately it seems that they just tell people "oh well you must have an active acct somewhere or else we couldn't charge you" which ...

Make 100% *SURE* you cancelled.

I have attempted to cancel my subscription multiple times over the last 12 months (perhaps it was the misleading 'Thanks for your feedback' four clicks in, with tiny 'proceed with cancellation' button far underneath?) So instead I continued to be charged. Their refund policy is a joke.

I can't pay!

I really liked o use Scribd, but after January21 all payment methods were refused. I was told that my account was held. But after 2 weeks, the security check could not be lifted. #3122922 I tried to create another account with a different email and other credit cards, but it did not work. My wife tried also. Did not work. I am speculating that they have issues with 3d secure, with European cards, but They don't seems to know themselves what's the issue. The most frustrating is that ...

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. They will take your money for years after you cancel and not return your emails asking for a refund. In the end, I had to ask MasterCard to classify them as a fraudulent payment and cancel that particular card. Nightmare.
