Terrible cancelation process
Terrible cancelation process. I signed up for Scribd, it was somewhat useful for what I needed. I cancelled my subscription... or so I thought. I got charged the next month and realized it is a 4-step process to cancel. It keeps giving you offers, which you have to bypass. You end up scrolling to the bottom and clicking "Cancel" on four different screens. It is ridiculous.

Payment problems
I had scribd for awhile and went in to try and update my payment and I get a message that says your card could not be processed please try again. I tried 4 different cards and none work?? I sent a message 2/26/21 and have not received a response to my inquiry.

Incredibly dishonest business, absolutely despicable
I signed up with Scribd on 2 October 2019. To my knowledge, I did not sign up for their "free trial" at this point – I know this because I have emails going up to 9 November 2019 offering said trial. Nevertheless, it has just come to my attention that beginning at the start of November 2019 Scribd has taken money out of my account on a monthly basis. I don't know why they have my payment details – I have received not a single piece of communication confirming a purchase or subscription, so ...

Stay away!
Stay away! Very sneaky way of making sure you don’t cancel your subscribtion. I thought I had cancelled my subscription weeks ago - but just found out I haven’t. When ending your subscription you need to confirm at least three times - and the wording does not make it obvious that you haven’t finished the process of ending your subscription. This is intended from Scribd without a doubt - to make sure people won’t cancel their subscription.

Can't access my account
I raised a ticket 10 days ago because changing my account password locked me out of my account. It wasn't originally my intention to cancel my subscription but going by the really horrible experiences described here, I am now worried for my money. I would need to get into my account to even be able to cancel my subscription! :-( My issue has still not been resolved. Ticket #3170849. Update: My issue is now resolved. I am able to access my account and my books. Thanks!

Cannot even start a membership/no support response
Keeps telling me there is an error when I try to put in a payment to start a membership. And when I try to use the app on my phone to sign in or start up it says signed in, then signed out. I only hope that the payment methods I have put in do not get charged. Especially since I tried multiple methods. Also I have put in multiple "support tickets" and none have been resolved, yet someone named Lucas T. has marked them as solved.

the creme a la creme of fraud
These guys are the creme a la creme of complete fraud. I made an account with them, NOT membership, DIFFERENCE! They refuse to acknowledge the payments (with proof of bank statements) taking money out of my account since March 2020. I gave them all my details, my scribd account does not have my card details and yet somehow have been charging me. Be very weary of them! After bringing this up to their attention, this girl Vanessa tried to get to the root of the issue. After a week of leaving ...

99% of all content on this site is…
99% of all content on this site is accessible elsewhere, meaning, people glean information from legitimate websites and sell it here for $, if you find something you want the content of, you can spend less than 5 minutes searching to find lo and behold, the exact content verbatum for the exact or very similar named articles elsewhere, so is this site a scam? the service in theory is legit, but the content is very poor quality and most likely copied from another website which will of course, ...

Beware of multiple charges
Beware: I was charged 3 times per month for one account. I noticed this on Month 2 when reviewing my credit card statement. Customer service, who only will answer via email, only agreed to refund 1 of 6 charges.

Terrible
Signed up for a free trial and it was cancelled after 30 minutes without me pressing anything, and the site wanted me to pay $10 to continue. Pretty clearly a scam
