Lost money

Somehow, my subscription wasn't cancelled. $10,79 was taken from my card. Didn't even got any receipt on my mail. For example, Netflix warns you and sends receipt every time. Support doesn't answer. Do not recommend this service. Support Ticket #3237701 UPDATE Got an answer, was promised to have my money back for the last month. I hope that will really happen. Also, a tip for everyone. Ask them to delete your banking details.

Fraud

I set an alarm a week after subscribing so that I can cancel my account and won't get charged after the trial ends. but to my surprise i still got charged usd8.99 / 453.14php. I noticed when I cancelled my account, a completely different name of a person appeared. I believe this is FRAUD. I already sent them emails requesting for a refund but no reply.

Fraudulent subscription cancellation

There is at least 5 pages you have to click through to cancel your subscription that they force you to pay to access documents other people stole and uploaded to this webpage. Through the cancellation process, it never clearly states what you have to do or if it is done. I have cancelled my subscription 2 times only to learn i havent gone through the last page that was hidden at the bottom of the page. Complete scam, what a joker company.

They limit books and won't tell you the limit

There is no way to know how many books you will be able to read/listen to per month. Even if you start a book, but then decide you want to read this other one instead, you will not necessarily be able to go back and finish the one you have downloaded and already started. I guess it's fine if you only want to listen/read 1-2 books a month. After that they make most titles unavailable. The limits wouldn't bother me, except they don't tell you how many books you are allowed to borrow per month.

Scamming is real

Thank you SCRIBD for stealing my money for 5 months even though I unsubscribed from your membership. You are asking for 5 different pages to unsubscribe single account and I did all of that, and your site confirmed that I am unsubscribed and today I realized that you have taken at least 50$ from me. Thank you very much. I will never use your site again.

Subscription model designed to deceive

This review is about Scribd's subscription management more than their content, but if you can't provide honest service who cares about the content? I accepted a free trial to access one particular document, reassured that I would get an email reminding me about the subscription prior to subscription being charged the next month. An email did arrive, but it was effectively disguised as generic customer satisfaction spam (subject: "we hope you're enjoying scribd"). When I saw the ...
