Like many others here
Like many others here, I cancelled my subscription to Scribd some months ago and have just noticed that I am still getting charged for the service. When I go to the website it confirms that I don't have a subscription and there is no customer service to speak of- when I tried to email them at their support address I got a form email telling me to go to their website- you can't contact a human about this. I'm sure I'll get the response that everyone gets- you must have a second account, etc. ...

What the heck is this? I never even signed up to whatever this service is YET I have been magically charged? Ultimate SCAM! After reading comments I’ve seen I’m not the only one here who’s had this issue.

Scribd, AVOID! - shameful overcharging scam !
As there is no zero star rating I had to give them one star. Like the 'Hotel California' - 'You can check out any time you like but you can never leave' Scribd should be investigated for running a fraudulent operation. In my limited research this morning I have uncovered hundreds of customers like me who have been repeatedly charged for a service they cancelled. What do you like best about Scribd? I enjoy its audiobook feature the most that let me hear the book of my choice even while working or doing other personal stuff. Other than this, I love its cross-platform availability making it a portable solution that I can even use through my mobile phone for hearing audiobooks while travelling. Any subscription based service that…
Any subscription based service that won't allow you to properly test their product without leaving bank details is a scam in my book. If your service is as great as advertised, then surely I'll pay to continue using it. However this company decided to deploy a business model that tricks people into giving them money by assuming a certain percentage of trial users will forget to cancel their subscription.

From 11/07/2014 until 21/03/2021 Scribd have been charging my credit card even though my membership expired on 11/07/2014. I send them snapshots of my: #1 account, where it says that my membership expired on11/07/2014 #2 visa card account statement for a billing from their side that was done on 20/10/2014, so 3 moths after my membership expired, and #3 visa card account statement for a billing from their side that was done on 21/03/2021, so seven years after my membership expired.
