"Platform allows for effective data lake development, without many bells and whistles. "

What do you like best about Qubole? The API works well. We use it to submit scheduled jobs via Airflow. Notebooks are useful for development, and spark applications submitted via the API and executed in Analyze is the best way to run scheduled pipelines. What do you dislike about Qubole? Customer service fails to solve problems we have; Qubole product development seems more focused on building features we won't use. Qubole has been slow to support up to date versions of hive, spark, ...

"Good but somewhat unreliable"

What do you like best? The tool allows for the analysis of large amounts of data. If you know SQL you can work with Qubole. Scala would be a plus. What do you dislike? My clusters sometimes seem unreliable. There are scripts set to run on startup that just don't get kicked off 1/5 times causing me to have to restart the cluster What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use it to track attributes in a data base over time for analysis. We write back ...

"Easy and intuitive to use "

What do you like best about Qubole? I'm easily able to organize data into clusters. I like that commands can easily be stored and reused when need be. I can also make spark jobs really easily and pull all the variables into a single table set. Storing the code also makes it easy to re-reun reports when need be. What do you dislike about Qubole? Depending on how many things you have open, it can be slow sometimes. It's easy to get crowded with how much data you can be combing through at a ...

"Easy sharing, but lacks functionality for work-in-process queries"

What do you like best about Qubole? Sharing queries easily, as well as saved results to avoid having to rerun. What do you dislike about Qubole? There's no way to save a work-in-process query, or incrementally update easily. A new query is created at every rerun. What problems is Qubole solving and how is that benefiting you? Easy sharing, avoiding sharing actual snippets in dispersed locations.

"Useful for work, but can be confusing to navigate"

What do you like best about Qubole? Ease of running queries, ability to save commands, ability to look at tables and columns What do you dislike about Qubole? Having to tab back and forth between things (tables, queries-- I often need to go back to check columns in tables, and sometimes I somehow accidentally end up clicking away from my query). Also have trouble sorting through history sometimes/finding old queries What problems is Qubole solving and how is that benefiting you? Has helped ...

"Good functionality for sharing, not great for saving versions"

What do you like best about Qubole? The ability to view my peers' code is really helpful. I've needed to check code from people who have left the company. The ability to join across databases is helpful. The scheduler is helpful too. It's a seamless scheduler. I like the ability to use many different channels and cadences in it. What do you dislike about Qubole? The versioning in qubole something that could be improved. I accidentally save over my work. I also need some training on the new ...
