One big problem with end-to-end encryption is that it makes searching the content of one's e-mails impossible (since they are encrypted on the server). Support is horrible!

I love encrypted mail, but Prontonmail support is horrible. They never give answers. They just keep asking you more questions to avoid telling you they have no answer. They don't address known issues (like syncing with the mobile) at all, even after more than a year of complaints.

I enjoy the security and the general lack of spam that I receive. I also like Switzerland cause their country seems to be doing very well economically (I studied economics in university). I would give ProtonMail a 5-star rating, but my only reservation is the fact that no one has heard of it, and when I'm on the phone with customer service or whatever, they ask for my email, and I have to spell it for them every time because they don't know what I'm talking about.

ProtonMail is an amazing service. Start with a free account to test it. For private email this might be even enough. Be warned that you cannot access a free account using IMAP. With a paid account you get IMAP, although you need to install a bridge locally, custom domains, multiple mail addresses, filters, and more. Five Stars From Me

I cannot think of one downside or major complaint of PM and I have been using it for at least a year. I’ve recommended to a number of family and friends and only one had anything negative to say. That one complaint was at times messages didn’t automatically go to drafts if they left the app. I haven’t experienced that and that person did not contact tech support to see if it was a settings issue.

I use the protonmail app for iPhone. It is useless freezes and doesn't work when you want it to. I write out an email 3 times for it to freeze and wipe the email and I had to start again. Deleted it right away. Total trash technology DO NOT USE THIS TRASH
