Spotsaas Editor’s POV

PledgeBox is a post-campaign pledge management platform designed for creators running crowdfunding projects on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. It helps teams collect backer details, manage surveys, process add-ons, and prepare orders for fulfillment after a campaign ends. The platform focuses on simplifying the operational side of crowdfunding by centralizing backer ...Read more

PledgeBox pros and cons

  • Smooth handoff of order data to ecommerce and fulfillment systems.

  • Supports add-ons, late pledges, and extra payments through Stripe and PayPal.

  • Purpose-built for post-campaign pledge management and backer surveys on crowdfunding platforms.

  • Marketing and community engagement features are minimal.

  • User interface feels utilitarian compared to modern ecommerce platforms.

PledgeBox is a legal scam.

PledgeBox operates like a legal loophole. While they work smoothly when a Kickstarter campaign succeeds, their true colors show when a project fails. As a mere intermediary, they offer no legal recourse for backers to reclaim money spent on additional purchases beyond the original pledge. This lack of accountability leaves backers in the lurch, highlighting the risks of relying on platforms like PledgeBox.

"Kelly" is sending me spam emails very few days even when I ask her to stop. Im assuming they are using bots. they are NOT trustworthy and I would stay clear. there are other options that dont use illegal tactics.

PledgeBox survey - Payment Error

Just received my first PledgeBox survey for a Kickstarter project. Filled in my name, address, etc. Went to pay and was given the option of PayPal or CC. Both choices resulted in the following error message (note the bad grammar and misspellings: The error message (see attached screengrab) says: "Payment account error: There is an error occurred when processing your payment: creator's PayPal account has the issue that The merchant account is restricted." The error message is so badly ...

PledgeBox is really easy to use

PledgeBox is really easy to use. It is very strong and has an intuitive user interface. PledgeBox's PreOrder option can be helpful if you can't find a venue to sell your product on after your Kickstarter campaign ends.

PledgeBox is quite helpful for me to…

PledgeBox is quite helpful for me to set up and process the post-campaign survey! The well-designed interface and in-time customer support do me a favor when I'm setting up my survey. I can not only check the Kickstarter orders quickly and easily, but also add a up-sale for extra promotions.Besides, the feedback from my backers are satisfied with the survey platform as well. They're able to finish the survey in no time and to find exactly what they want.Strongly recommend PledgeBox to other ...

For all of our projects

For all of our projects, we made use of the PledgeBox service, and it was a huge success. We have a big number of backers, PledgeBox is practical and simple to use, and it helps us with a lot of different issues.
