Plaid pros and cons

  • Reviewers find it easy to integrate, with a straightforward, well-documented API.

  • It connects to a wide range of banks and financial institutions across the US.

  • A secure, seamless way to verify bank accounts and authenticate ACH transactions.

  • It reduces friction and effort, making bank linking fast for customers and users.

  • Several reviewers say support can be slow and report consistent or recurring errors.

  • It doesn't work with some banks and services, and lacks a status page for smaller banks.

Freshbooks uses Plaid, I'm cancelling today

Freshbooks uses Plaid for my account. It has been down for six weeks, with multiple unresolved tickets. Complete garbage.

Spam ppoup and useless service

This company is really getting on my nerves and I've never spoken to anybody. I've been attepting to use them, since it's required for fiannacial verification. Their system keeps telling me I'm inputing the wrong information, despite me knowing full well, it's correct. The institutions that use this company keep up with the "problem is on your end, not ours attitude". There's no way to clear your information. I was just on their website and it's nothing but screen refresh and pop-ups, ...

suspect For the last 3 years I've been trying…

For the last 3 years I've been trying to claim my royalties from SongTradr who make me repeat the same Plaid verification process every quarter which inevitably fails but each time I notice they squeeze more and more info out of me which is concerning. they made me take a selfie then do different facial expressions...

Plaid and IdentityGuard - NOT dynamic duo

This review really belongs to IdentityGuard which insists I put all my info into Plaid in order to get them to monitor my account. There is not even an option for me to put in my data myself. I am glad I came here because I have not done anything yet with them. Was thinking I could just use them and dispense with IdentityGuard. Going to ditch them both. Thanks to the other reviewers!

Dangerous and Invasive

Dangerous and Invasive My college-age son's landlord wants everyone to use Plaid to pay for rent. I have multiple issues with using Plaid. First they want your login credentials (username and password) for your bank which will give them total access to your account. If Plaid ever gets hacked you have the potential to lose everything in your account. Second, if you accept their terms and conditions you grant them the right to all of the information related to your account: balances, loans, ...
