Expert's Review

Photobucket has been a longstanding platform for storing and sharing photos, but recent changes have left many users feeling frustrated and deceived. While the service initially offered free storage and convenient photo hosting, it has now transitioned into a subscription-based model that some users find misleading and exploitative. Several users have expressed ...Read more

Over 10 years as a paying customer and now they did this? I was a happily paying that about $5/month but $400/year is well overpriced. Good luck PB with your new strategy. I got a new image hosting service now.

Download Album no longer available

Download Album no longer available. Was sent multiple emails claiming I'd breached the 3rd party hosting rule but were unable to tell me which ones ( I hadn't - it was an "ad" for their new TOS) Website is now unuseable and have just been informed the download album function is no longer available - so I have to download all 1200 photos individually before I can leave the godforesaken mess that is now Photobucket..Photobucket - you suck bigtime.

No communication to say they would stop …

No communication to say they would stop showing my pictures on my clubs forum. Then demanding 400 dollars , No Way! I've closed my account and gone to imgbb for free and I don't have to look at loads of adds. 7 years with them means nothing.

never more PB for the rest of my life

I have spent thousand hours to convert all my photos to another hosting, then edit all my disccussion on forums.. if I had to quantify how much time I've lost, it would never be enough for $ 399, they would have to pay me to apologize for so much misguidanceso after this immense conversion I do not want to hear anymore about this blackmailer site, I hope that they disappear from internet as soon as possible. I hope that no one has paid for this ransom

Because the 3rd PARTY HOSTING change …

Because the 3rd PARTY HOSTING change was a major **** move.I understand wanting to make some more money with all the competition. I was willing to pay a little extra. But locking that option to the MOST expensive plan. NO.I have been using Photobucket for that purpose and that purpose only for over 14 years now. I have thousands of pictures held hostages on my Live journal right now, from 2003 until now. 14 years worth of pictures are now not showing on my journal ... it's all down the ...

Photobucket pulled a very foolish …

Photobucket pulled a very foolish maneuver that basically proves, yet again, those who fail to study history are foolishly doomed to repeat it. Over the years many internet companies have taken profitable business plans and destroyed them due to greed, believing they'd earn more money, but instead watching their companies crash and burn. Photobucket's board doesn't think that 500k a month from advertising revenue was "enough", get ready for 0 dollars a month as everyone (like myself) quits ...

Awful service, awful support!

So a lot of people already mentioned the change on photobucket. Beside this awful decision to make it unusable for the reasons you need it (i.e. uploading an image and putting it on another website), they don't even let me log into my account. I got my account 10 years ago. It was nothing important, I only uploaded tiny images for a little personal blog. Back then you didn't need a creative password. And I was able to log into my account with my old password always - until this summer! ...

Class Action Anyone?

Photobucket had hosted my pictures for years and years and then one day - POOF - they were all gone and a horrible icon took their place. What unmitigated nerve not to inform their customers in advance. Had they done this, all of us could have prepared for the inevitable.Maybe we have a lawyer who would like to start a class action!

I really try to be a positive person

I really try to be a positive person, but occasionally you have to post something negative to help your fellow man. Here it is: Photobucket stinks! We had a Photobucket account for years. Not too long ago, they restricted their free accounts from linking to third parties. For example you couldn't put a link to a photo in a forum, blog or Facebook unless you upgraded to a paid account. And not just any paid account, you had to upgrade to a $400/year account. Plus, for a couple of years, We ...
