Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot) is a marketing automation platform built for B2B teams already using Salesforce. Its integration with Salesforce connects sales and marketing data directly—lead tracking, nurturing, and conversion workflows pull from the same system. The platform handles email automation, lead scoring, segmentation, ...Read more

Pardot pros and cons

  • Full marketing suite covering automation, lead scoring, segmentation, and campaign execution.

  • Direct Salesforce CRM integration gives unified pipeline visibility across sales and marketing.

  • Drag-and-drop tools for landing pages and emails work without technical expertise.

  • Analytics and reporting let teams optimize campaigns and track performance.

  • Steep learning curve; custom branding and advanced features require technical expertise.

  • Pricing is prohibitive for small and mid-sized businesses.

Not the best analytics platform but a super easy email marketing solution

What do you like best? I like that you can build a list really quickly and that you can add to it from external sources,. What do you dislike? The open and click-through rates on the reports section. It's rarely as accurate as I'd like. Recommendations to others considering the product Buy an analytics company and apply new tech to your reporting. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I'm managing email campaigns for multiple ...

User-Friendly Compared to other Marketing Automation Platforms

What do you like best? Very easy to set up and use right away. Their platform is not clunky like that of Eloqua. They have drip campaigns, page actions, multiple ways to segment and can easily integrate into Salesforce. What do you dislike? If you do a mass update in Salesforce such as account owners, it may not sync to Pardot. You need to speak to a customer service rep to perform a "Master Sync' which is ridiculous. What business problems are you solving with the product? What ...

Terrible user experience

What do you like best? - They have recently introduced campaign alignment with Salesforce. - You can use it within Salesforce, no need to log in separately What do you dislike? - Horrible UI/UX - Forms look terrible - You can't add/remove columns in a list view - Filters on dynamic lists are not great - Search functionality is very bad - You can build only very simple automations - Things are not were you expect them to be, not intuitive at all - You can't ...

Is there such a thing as "too much" in marketing automation?

What do you like best? Breadth of capabilities! Real-time prospect activity, integrates with SFDC, A/B testing, segmentation, templates - its a little bit like a CMS in many ways What do you dislike? There are so many capabilities that it's nearly impossible to use them all successfully. In order to get the 'good ones', the licensing fee is about doubled per month. Also, it really only integrates with SFDC - so that doesn't leave as many options as one might desire. Recommendations to ...

Customer Support Used to Make This Product, Now We're Chatless

What do you like best? The Engagement Studio brought to life a lot of the things that Pardot had been missing as our marketing organization has matured in sophistication. What do you dislike? Previously, Pardot Chat was available as Customer Support, and it was amazing. Not only did we feel like we had a real human connection with some of the reps, they were also truly knowledgeable. Now we were upsold to the bigger package, which we were told would include chat support, but now it's ...

Powerful but not userfriendly

What do you like best? Automation Rules are very useful and powerful. The connection to Salesforce makes them even more powerful. What do you dislike? The UI of Pardot is very complicated. It takes a lot of time to design and send emails and it often requires advanced HTML skills. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Business problems: Lead prioritization Benefits realized: Marketing Automation, Lead Grading & Scoring. Lead ...
