Buyer beware: Otter will hold your data hostage.

Let me preface this by saying I've been subscribed for almost two years (mostly too lazy to find another recording app). The transcription sucks btw. Anyway, the price for my account is due to triple next month so I figured, let me grab my recordings before I close my account. Lo and behold... The most shocking customer service

The most shocking customer service. Account was deleted and I have been waiting to hear back from customer service for over a month to have the issue handled. Please avoid at all costs!!!

Cannot trust it to be there for your transcriptions

Set up an interview in Zoom: it turns out Otter only transcribed my voice and not the person I was interviewing. No help with their manual or website. I am thus going to have to listen and type manually. Free, so I got what I paid for.

Really bad Support

Really bad support. Made sure to let us know that service would be better if we had a paid plan. What company does that? Would not recommend this company. No phone number to call. A bit shady.

Poor quality transcription and customer services

The actual transcription isn't great, some conversations were ok, and some were terrible. It actually reduced my productivity due to having to correct a multitude of errors. Secondly, they don't make it clear enough that you only get a certain amount of interviews and length of interviews when you pay for a package. Recently was spammed by a customer…

Recently was spammed by a customer initiated MS Teams call. Their stealth approach by not clearly notifying users that it attaches to all video conf tools is deception at best. It will spam all attendees Internal & External. Steer clear of any link associated with OtterPilot!

Frankly just a scam and rip off

The service Otter.ai provides is mediocre at best - you need to proofread carefully as it is unreliable. However, my main complaint is the difficulty of amending or canceling your plan. They are relying on you not spending the time to log into several different sites, emailing, etc. to make any changes. Poor quality and I highly recommend people do pay for this plan.

Poor quality Service & Useless Product

The customer service is atrocious. I upgraded to Otter Pro and the transcript for two recordings since 11 May 2023 is still processing. I sent screenshots, recordings and numerous emails dealing with an agent called Robert, who has not assisted me. I took a year's subscription which I paid in full and it has been less than a month since I upgraded. I have repeated asked for a refund as Otter is useless to me. and I have not received any response.
