"Disappointed in changes to plan."

What do you like best about Otter.ai? Otter ai continues to offer an excellent transcription resource, especially if you want real-time transcripts of your online meetings. Unfortunately, that isn't my primary need for the software, and recent plan changes put a rather severe limit on the one feature I use most. When I first subscribed to the software, Otter offered basic subscribers up to 6000 minutes of recording transcription per month, a limit I never actually reached with transcripts ...

I canceled my service after the trial…

I canceled my service after the trial and have been charged ever since. There is no customer service number, they say to cancel I have to sign in but to sign in I have to allow them to have access to my google contacts and schedule and there is no way to get around that. So, in order for me to try to get a refund of the past year's charges, I have to exchange my calendar info and my contacts? Talk about invasion of privacy.

Terrible service, no refund

On the workable quality of my first transcription, I took out a year subscription with Otter. These recordings were made in unusually (for my work) good conditions. Subsequent recordings weren't and the quality of Otter's transcriptions tumbled to unusable. Sections of speech were incorrect or missing. So I had to do it myself. Never been so unhappy with a company

I have never in 40 years been so disappointed with the service of a provider. This is an absolute warning. STAY FAR AWAY. Biggest nitemare ever. Waiting for 2 weeks to communicate with them.

Don't bother.

Like many others on here, the customer service is non-existent. For months now I have not been able to link two of my colleague's accounts as the prompts/instructions to do this don't work. They were very quick and eager to show us the platform, sign us up and run away with our money but the minute I need help, the account manager along with the customer service team also miraculously disappeared.

What do you like best about Otter.ai? It's very user-friendly and easy to set up, use, and integrate with other platforms/applications, like Gmail. You can correct a translation if needed, download a transcription, and make the transcription/recording sharable to pass to a colleague or client as needed.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

The customer service for Otter.ai is trash beyond comprehension. The product is not working and nobody is responding to my emails or helping figure it out. I regret very much making this purchase.

Their default settings to broadcast to all attendees is unethical. No support response so far after 5 days.

Serious violation of privacy by Otter

Serious violation of privacy by Otter, with no response to multiple complaints. One participant in a (private) session I ran online had signed up to Otter and its default settings meant that it recorded the session and signed everyone in the meeting up without anyone giving it explicit permission. Incredibly thoughtless and intrusive and no sign of any recognition of the fault on their part.
