My Essbase Review

What do you like best? Users are very happy wtih the ease of analysis in Essbase via Smart View. The ability to slice and dice quicky is very powerful for users. What do you dislike? The downside of on-premise Essbase is that it hasn't seen much feature improvements in a very long time :( What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Annual Budgeting and Monthly Forecasting is being performed in our Essbase envrionment.

It works perfect for analysis

What do you like best? Connectivity with excel using smartview. In process to move to cloud. What do you dislike? Admin and Server controls , I dislike server controls around essbase. Not access data saved on server. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Forecasting and Planning , analysis is easier

No issues with on prem

What do you like best? No major issues with on prem, however I am technical enough to handle any issues such as services and upgrades/patches to end user connections and training so this could be why I don't mind on pre vs cloud What do you dislike? There is nothing that I dislike about this product. I have worked with it for years and love it!! What problems are you solving with the product? Essbase is a very quick method for consuming data in an accountant-friendly format

What do you like best? The ability to select metadata that is relevant to me. I also like multiple connections on the same Smart View sheet What do you dislike? For some users, it is difficult to navigate through the metadata to get to relevant intersections What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? What do you like best? for corporate planning it is a great tool and has very good flexibility to design the process. What do you dislike? Opening service requests can be a very frustrating process and take a long time to solve problems. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? we are solving the coordination of a global budgeting process

Great for volume calcs

What do you like best? Tried and tested; well known and used by peers and good availability of contract resources in the market for additional developments. What do you dislike? Hard to answer - does what it is supposed to. Have nothing to compare to. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? A must for Financial Planning
