Essbase Experience Review

What do you like best? Vast array of options to analyze and arrange data. Powerful database that is easily customizable. What do you dislike? MDX and calc scripts can be a bit complex. Would be great if there could be an analyzer for performance of cubes. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are using it with our planning application as well as reporting cubes

Over 15 years experience with Essbase, BSO and ASO, Partitions, etc.

What do you like best? Solving interesting business needs, allowing users to improve their data needs What do you dislike? Some design desicions can have negative impacts on user experience. Recommendations to others considering the product: Get in person training, never stop learning! What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Storing large volumes of data in an ASO database, using partitions to allow for fewer aggregations of data.
