Are you using MURAL?
Spotsaas Editor’s POV
Mural works best for distributed teams running synchronous workshops, design sprints, and brainstorming sessions where real-time co-editing matters. Before shortlisting, verify that your team can commit to live sessions—asynchronous workflows (leaving comments on static boards) feel clunky compared to tools like Miro or Figma. "How to Run a Virtual Studio"
What do you like best about Mural? I use Mural to run a virtual biodesign studio. Students pick a "desk space" in Mural, and post their work on their desk. We can visit the desks during class (via Zoom at the moment) to discuss the work. And after class students can see what everyone else is working on, exactly as they would do in a real design studio. Students can also be assigned to crit one another's work in Mural, with the use of sticky notes. Students at my college are required to ...

"My go-to virtual collaboration tool"
What do you like best about Mural? Mural allows for incredible virtual collaboration and in a creative way. It is simple and easy to use and fosters creativity as well. It is a flexible tool and easy to leverage in a variety of ways and purposes. It also integrated very well with Design Thinking which is a huge bonus with all the templates available. What do you dislike about Mural? As mural is web based, it is not always 100% reliable. It is usually okay for the most part but sometimes ...

"Where collaboration meets creativity!"
What do you like best about Mural? I have used Mural either for games, to brainstorm or to collaborate on running projects with peers. I enjoy being able to draw your board in a blank canvas - how you can easily import external image and how you can actually export notes to spreadsheet or pdf. What do you dislike about Mural? Dislike is a strong word. I think a good area for improvement is more flexibility with the grid templates, I want to have more options on that alley. Also, if I can ...

"Beyond the technology its the customer service and responsiveness that makes Mural stand out"
What do you like best about Mural? I've been using Mural for over four years, and while at first it was the technology and its revolutionary ability to transform online meetings that was the star, I quickly learned that Mural's customer service, support and overall responsiveness made a huge difference for me. On one of my first sessions when I ran into a problem the team solved my issue proactively and in the background to enable a critical session to proceed without problems. This type of ...

"Making remote collaborative work a little more fun"
What do you like best about Mural? I love having an interactive multi-dimensional space that lets me “play” at work. Mural has allowed us to think more creatively as a team and to problem solve in ways that have been difficult in a remote working environment. I have found myself going to Mural as a "drawing board" for mapping out ideas that I would otherwise have difficulty communicating. Additionally, I have found that it is an incredible tool for having participants in workshops or ...

"Mural is fun and smooth, it wow's people when presenting ideas."
What do you like best about Mural? Templates are a good starting point to present ideas, the vision board is my favorite. But what I like the most is to combine template ideas into my own. I also like collaborating with others in the same mural and see everybody else's mouse moving. What do you dislike about Mural? The "Rooms" metaphor is a bit confusing and it makes it hard to find my murals. I was working in a project and when I switched to another I couldn't find my old Murals, at turned ...
