Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Mural works best for distributed teams running synchronous workshops, design sprints, and brainstorming sessions where real-time co-editing matters. Before shortlisting, verify that your team can commit to live sessions—asynchronous workflows (leaving comments on static boards) feel clunky compared to tools like Miro or Figma. Check whether Mural's template ...Read more

"As a tool for visual collaboration, MURAL is in a class all by itself."

What do you like best about Mural? I like that someone new to MURAL without any kind of training feels comfortable enough to participate in a workshop. There are plenty of ways to learn the tool. The online experience is very satisfying and the tool set used for facilitation blows the competition out of the water. What do you dislike about Mural? The MURAL application works best on Chrome. The default browser for many people in our company is IE. This caused a lot of confusion for them. I ...

"Mural is awesome!"

What do you like best about Mural? I love being able to simultaneously collaborate in this virtual environment. My organization uses Mural for root cause problem solving and it has been a life saver after moving to working from home last year with the challenges of the pandemic. I also love the templates that are already available and that Mural allows you to create your own templates and share with others. What do you dislike about Mural? The only issue I have with Mural is that it can get ...

"Excellent for facilitating brainstorming sessions"

What do you like best about Mural? During brainstorming sessions, I can easily facilitate voting for each generated points. This ensures proper engagement from each participant. What do you dislike about Mural? Sometimes, the digital workspace might be too small for what I'm working on. However, I rarely encounter such scenarios. Recommendations to others considering Mural: If you're undecided, take that bold step. I don't think you'd regret it. This is very useful - especially since we're ...

"A powerful tool with a variety of uses."

What do you like best about Mural? MURAL is a powerful tool with a variety of uses, and probably my favorite aspect is how it doesn't force me or funnel me in any one direction. I can use it as a team collaboration tool, a training tool, a game to help people get to know each other, or even use it to map out a landscaping plan for my backyard projects. Minimalist UI and access to templates make it easy to teach new people how to use it. What do you dislike about Mural? Hard to find anything ...

"One of the best tools for remote team interactions"

What do you like best about Mural? What I like the most is the easiness of use even for somebody brand new to the tool. I also like all the available features, including the anonymous option for participants to join a given board. Last, I also appreciate the simplicity when it comes to copying and pasting things on the board. It really makes a big difference to increase participants interaction and engagement. Besides that, I think the fact that it shows you exactly where you are in the ...

"Intuitive Remote Collaboration and Visual Thinking Tool"

What do you like best about Mural? It's easy to learn and share with others. There are a plethora of images and symbols you can readily use. Simple to navigate and organize and/or sprawl your thoughts for individual projects. They update the program frequently to address feedback or add additional features. What do you dislike about Mural? A couple minor nitpicks: They may fix this in a later update, but you can only layer objects by sending to back or bringing to front. There is no nuanced ...

"Collaboration Made Easier"

What do you like best about Mural? I like best the endless creative possibilities to build workspaces for collaboration, capture ideas from workshops and meetings. Mural is also very easy to use for all users because the UX is user friendly and it's easy to understand how to work in within the workspace. What do you dislike about Mural? When creating and using a very large Mural workspace, it can be difficult to navigate and find what area your are looking for. You need to zoom out to get ...

"Simple, Easy Digital Whiteboard"

What do you like best about Mural? Simple interface allows for quick onboarding of this tool. It allows for easy collaboration even when inviting a new person to use the software. What do you dislike about Mural? Drawing tools are very rudimentary and could be more sophisticated. Allowing for using a tablet pen to its potential would improve collaboration via digital sketching. What problems is Mural solving and how is that benefiting you? Most frequently it is used for brainstorming ...
