Microsoft Project is the tool needed to get the job done and on time!

What do you like best? It provides all the tools and calendar manipulation functions to easily and accurately edit a work schedule on the fly or prioritize assignments. What do you dislike? One of the problems with the software is that it can take awhile to learn and utilize it's capabilities. The learning curve is higher than other Microsoft Office products, and many won't be able to see its worth until you use it for a project for personal life or work. What business problems are ...

Not worth the price

What do you like best? Being a PM, i have to use these software programs a fair deal. However, I do rely on Excel more. It lets you do more and I like to view in Excel rather than Microsoft Project. Data is more easily manipulated using excel. MP is fancier looking but that is about all it offers. What do you dislike? Its more complicated. It is not as user friendly as Microsoft excel Recommendations to others considering the product I think you should give people the option to ...

Flexible and powerful

What do you like best? The ability to customize the look and feel. I can format the display to make it easier to follow when dealing with project team members - this includes the ability to add custom columns, and the ability to filter and sort the tasks. I keep track of my meeting minutes in the notes field of each task, which allows me to sort, filter out closed items, only consider tasks upcoming in the next two weeks, etc. What do you dislike? o It is extremely finicky about the ...

Excellent product for start-ups

What do you like best? Microsoft Project is very easy to use. The interface is very similar to other Microsoft products like Excel or Word. The design also is represented in a way that is readable and it displays the information in an orderly fashion. Most of the information displayed is easy to read and does not overlap even when the screen isn't small. What do you dislike? Honestly, there isn't anything that I dislike about the product. Keep in mind that I don't have a huge project ...

Nothing else like it in the market, but could be made more modern to today's standards

What do you like best? Overall, it is the only PM software that works. The ability to track projects costs by resource's hours and rate is wonderful. The sync with PWA is absolutely great. Finally, the ability to baseline over and over again is ideal for super large projects. What do you dislike? It's outdated. It does not support Mac. The web interface is very limited. Looks like it hasn't been updated in a decade, even 2016 isn't that great. What business problems are you solving ...
