Microsoft Project
What do you like best? I use Microsoft Project primarily for project management across multiple clients. Having the ability to nest tasks under summaries, etc. is very useful, allowing a high level view of project progress, while also allowing you to dive into detail by diving into tasks. The resource allocation and reporting features are also very useful tools, allowing you to remain in one software tool for all primary project needs. What do you dislike? We've struggled to find a ...

It's Microsoft...what do you expect?
What do you like best? It's pretty much Excel in a project mgt form. I was able to manage and track various smaller projects to bigger projects with no problem. It allows you to fully see a project through from start to end & manage all tasks/deadlines in between. I was able to use this software in my last 2 jobs & various volunteer organizations, so it's widely used throughout the industry. It's pretty basic software with the exception of the advance features. What do you dislike? I ...

Microsoft Project is the tool needed to get the job done and on time!
What do you like best? It provides all the tools and calendar manipulation functions to easily and accurately edit a work schedule on the fly or prioritize assignments. What do you dislike? One of the problems with the software is that it can take awhile to learn and utilize it's capabilities. The learning curve is higher than other Microsoft Office products, and many won't be able to see its worth until you use it for a project for personal life or work. What business problems are ...

Not worth the price
What do you like best? Being a PM, i have to use these software programs a fair deal. However, I do rely on Excel more. It lets you do more and I like to view in Excel rather than Microsoft Project. Data is more easily manipulated using excel. MP is fancier looking but that is about all it offers. What do you dislike? Its more complicated. It is not as user friendly as Microsoft excel Recommendations to others considering the product I think you should give people the option to ...

Flexible and powerful
What do you like best? The ability to customize the look and feel. I can format the display to make it easier to follow when dealing with project team members - this includes the ability to add custom columns, and the ability to filter and sort the tasks. I keep track of my meeting minutes in the notes field of each task, which allows me to sort, filter out closed items, only consider tasks upcoming in the next two weeks, etc. What do you dislike? o It is extremely finicky about the ...
