Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Loom helps you stand out against your competitors"

What do you like best about Loom? I love being able to quickly record a video where I can express my emotion and use non-verbal communication, hand gestures, or even share my screen. The best part is the quick, easy link you can send in a DM, email, or even text message. What do you dislike about Loom? It's glitchy at times. I have the chrome extension and the desktop for mac version so if one isn't working usually the other will. But that's frustrating when it happens. What problems is ...

"The perfect Show n Tell tool for professionals!"

What do you like best about Loom? Love being able to explain a process or show my co-works anything I'm encountering easily within a browser. Sharing is also super easy! What do you dislike about Loom? Little clunky to set up the first time. Easily fixed but takes more time than I'd like to get ready. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Explaining a process to my coworker easily, quickly, and effectively. Being able to show and tell at the same time is amazing!

"A Wonderful Addition to Our Tech Stack"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom is an amazing tool for training, communication, and feedback. A Loom video is much preferred over written processes in our SOP, and it's much quicker than typing out a process too! What do you dislike about Loom? I have issues with getting the desktop app to work so I can only use the browser extension, and I know of other team members who have had issues with the browser extension. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Loom is ...

What do you like best about Loom? I love that it is a no fuss way to record videos and share them with who I need to. The AI capabilities that auto summarize videos are great!
