Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Lever is an advanced applicant tracking system (ATS) that caters effectively to small and mid-sized companies while providing features that resonate well with recruiters and hiring managers alike. Lever pros and cons

  • Automates and streamlines repetitive recruitment tasks like scheduling, email management, and interview feedback, saving time and improving efficiency.

  • Intuitive, user-friendly interface with minimal training needed, enabling quick adoption across teams, including non-technical users.

  • Enhances collaboration and transparency within hiring teams and stakeholders by centralizing information and processes.

  • Offers useful features like bulk actions, nurture campaigns, built-in templates, and Chrome extensions for increased productivity.

  • Customer support post-implementation is inconsistent and unresponsive at times, leading to delays in issue resolution.

  • Limited customization options for workflows, scorecards, and career pages, which may not meet the needs of larger organizations or advanced use cases.

Better than Jobscience, but still requires a lot of manual reporting.

What do you like best? Intuitive and simple. The note section is great. The ability to share and make nites secret. I wish Lever would notify when a requisition that is assigned to the recruiter is changed in anyway. What happens is that reqs or open, closed or put on hold and the recruiter never knows. So, you can spend time working something that is not open. Our people team has to keep a spreadsheet and then asks that we look through all of the spreadsheet to see if anything has ...

So intuitive

What do you like best? Lever is very easy to pick up and use. All features are made with general intuition in mind. I was able to learn Lever on my own in a few days. What do you dislike? Some of the very specialized features take time to get working properly, and the support team is not able to give an estimated timeline accurately. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Hiring faster. The biggest benefit is that Lever sends follow ...

Good up until a point

What do you like best? I like the ease of use. The interface and tool is very straight forward and intuitive. What do you dislike? Lever reporting is extremely challenging. It's difficult to understand what's in your pipeline. Also, there aren't great ways to stay on top of your candidates mostly because there aren't many reminder features. Once a company starts high volume recruiting with many different recruiting team members the tool becomes less and less useful. ...

Not bad

What do you like best? Good customer support, easy to use for me What do you dislike? Not user-friendly for hiring managers (people who don't use it as much as recruiters do) Recommendations to others considering the product: Good software for candidate pipeline management What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Very good customer support Response from Lauren Cahill of Lever edit Hi there, Thank you for taking ...

Lever Review

What do you like best? The design and appearance of the website What do you dislike? Lever needs to communicate more with its users What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? A decent product that lacks flexibility in a field that needs flexibility

What do you like best? I like the feedback forms and the linkedin integration What do you dislike? The fact that I need to submit a google form every time I want to change our interview pipeline. This seems unpolished. I also don't like how each department can't have their own interview pipeline. Engineers have technical assessments; operations managers do not. I don't like that to book a call, it has to be through Lever and I can't just add in "call booked outside lever" and ...

Large turnover

What do you like best? I like the ease of using their program. I like how easy it is to use their pipeline and review the reports What do you dislike? We have had several account managers over the last few months. We purchased additional support and it was non existant as they would continuously schedule meetings and not show. To their side, they have refunded us and hopped on a call with us yesterday to try and resolve What problems are you solving with the product? What ...

Not what it's all cracked up to be

What do you like best? The ease of seeing the pipeline for each role. What do you dislike? Lack of effective reporting for business needs such as reporting on time to fill for roles. Lever is definitely candidate driven. Inquiries on product features and being informed the feature I've inquired about would be added to a list of new products that the team will work on. Basically, the feature does not exist. Simple ATS features are not availble or will soon be available such as ...

Lack of support

What do you like best? I tried to get an onsite visit from anyone at Lever to help my team ramp and no one was available, they offered for us to come to them. What do you dislike? Support, i could not get any support when I needed it. Recommendations to others considering the product: Hire more people to support your customers What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? ATS Response from Lauren Cahill of Lever edit Hi! ...

Half done, lacking in basic reporting accuracy, terrible experience with implementation

What do you like best? Good interface, lots of promise when it gets fully designed What do you dislike? There is NO 800 or other number for customer service, we had multiple deadly issues and couldn't reach a human being except via email, who then sent emails with links to video explaining basic functionality. We had MULTIPLE instances of trainers not showing up to training when our staff had scheduled from all over the world. Don't expect customer service or a true account manager ...
