A solid, well maintained Photoshop alternative that doesn't disappoint
What do you like best? GIMP is a strong image editor (raster based that is more than capable of fulfilling most needs. Having previously used Photoshop, I was reticent to believe that this Open-Source alternative could stand in its place. I am happy to report that it does, and it is a tool that has now served me well for 5+ years. There are frequent version updates that introduce new features and improved user interface components, and the plugin community is solid. It can do perhaps ...

Great Altenative
What do you like best? I like that developers are always improving on the user experience. There is a bit of a learning curve between using GIMP vs Photoshop, but once you get the hand of the controls, developers are made sure to give designers enough tools to not miss the expensive alternative. What do you dislike? The learning curve. Honestly, It took a month or so to get accustom to GIMPs menu. There should be a beginners walk-through tutorial or something in that nature to point out ...

Not For Complete Newbies, but Great Alternative to Photoshop
What do you like best? I appreciate that this is an adequate alternative to Photoshop for us less monetarily inclined. It may not have all the bells and whistle of Photoshop, but for a free program it is quite incredible what it enables you to do and is a great resource for learning the in's and out's of design. What do you dislike? If you are brand new to using this type of program you will still need help understanding what to do and what everything is. There is not step-by-step ...
