Gimp-great little tool

What do you like best? The ease to manipulate a photo and yet undo a change fairly easily. What do you dislike? On a mac at least, the program pops up using several windows, making it slightly hectic on the screen. Recommendations to others considering the product There are many great tutorials online that explain the various features in an easy to understand manner. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Gimp allows a quick alteration ...

Great FREE alternative to more powerful editors

What do you like best? I've used GIMP in a pinch when I didn't have access to Adobe Photoshop or another more powerful tool. GIMP is free and offers many of the same basic/intermediate functions as subscription software. It's been great! What do you dislike? Can't think of anything I dislike. It's free, gets the job done, the interface is intuitive. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It allowed me to use a free tool to get some ...

Gimp is great

What do you like best? I appreciate that you can do so many different things with Gimp...it has quite a few similar functions to the other photo editing programs I have used over the years. What do you dislike? It is NOT easy to learn some of the functions, even if you have experience with other programs. Recommendations to others considering the product Have a decent amount of experience before you dig in and ask a lot of questions (google it if you don't. What business problems are you ...

Great product offered for free!

What do you like best? I love this product. It is free and super easy to use. I have used full blown photoshop but the vast majority of the tools I need are offered on GIMP so I have no real need to go into the whole pay to play system that Adobe has implemented. What do you dislike? There is honestly nothing that I dislike about this program. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It is a low-resource program and my computer doesn't ...

Easy to use and Free

What do you like best? The interface is simple and extremely easy to use. What do you dislike? Some of the features are redundant, and the interface could be a bit cleaner. Recommendations to others considering the product I would definitely recommend this program, even if it is not your primary editing software. It is a great supplemental product and I have used it over photoshop and lightroom several times just for the ease of us and the fact that it doesn't deplete the resources of my ...

GIMP free graphics for anybody

What do you like best? Even if it's free, it's very powerful and complete; in addition, you can find many plugins that cover any necessity. It integrates greatly with the Desktop Environments, so I never stop my job to go and look into folders, or browse into them: I'm always focused on my work, since GIMP isn't a different thing from my Desktop Environment... And is very intuitive and usable: I work on the image, change tools, zoom in/out with mouse wheel or with touchpad... and nobody ...

GIMP is the best bang for your buck

What do you like best? I like that it has all the features of Photoshop, without the hefty price tag. I can do anything I need in the program. The ability to add your own palettes of tools is a very nice feature. I find that i don't often use all of the features provide, so the ability to remove unnecessary ones is very nice. For a free to use program the UI is very intuitive, user friendly and capable of handling all of your photo manipulation needs. What do you dislike? I don't find ...

GIMP tales

What do you like best? Its free! And with pretty much all the functionality you need if you are a web developer and don't want to invest in the adobe suite. For all the little tweaks I need to make, GIMP just fits the bill. I run Debian so GIMP really is my de facto graphics software. What do you dislike? Just some of the slight differences between the toolbox in CS4. That's only because I learnt that first. Recommendations to others considering the product Don't give up straight away if ...

If you learn one image editor - learn this one

What do you like best? It was always available, and It is free OpenSource with professional output. And there are plugins to solve the more complex situatione - but I know, that every minute I invested in learning the endless possibilities of this software payed back. What do you dislike? CMYK is sometimes not easy to understand, Work on more than on layer at the same time is not always fun. The preview of fonts could be better. interoperabillity with other OpenSource could be easier ...
