The best open source graphics program

What do you like best? Its FREE, but the other thing that is nice is the huge following. When you have a question about how to do anything you can just go to Google and find multiple tutorials (usually a video or two. What do you dislike? Its not part of an entire suite and it does not seem to be best for editing PDF's Recommendations to others considering the product There is no downside and the cost is FREE which is pretty hard to beat. I would suggest trying it first before spending a ...

Best Free Image Editor

What do you like best? Photoshop power and usage in a free software program. You may not be able to do everything in Gimp that you can in Photoshop, but for most users, it's close. What do you dislike? It mimics PhotoShop with the tools and layout, but some things are not in the same place, which can confuse the user. Recommendations to others considering the product If PhotoShop has more bells and whistles than you need, this is a great FREE alternative. What business problems are you ...

Good free software for small business's occasional use

What do you like best? This is free software. Because this software has been around for a long time and has a large user base, it is easy to find answers online for any questions I may have about how to do something. What do you dislike? The user interface is utilitarian. Bit of a learning curve for someone who is not familiar with image manipulation software. Not necessarily harder to use than paid software, however. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...

Free Image Editor that gets the job done.

What do you like best? I found out about Gimp because I was looking for an alternative to Fireworks and Photoshop. In web design, you frequently need to tweak images. Gimp certainly is capable of providing the same experience to a pro-Photoshop user. If you have been using a tool for years on end, like I have with Fireworks, even small differences bug you. What do you dislike? The UI for Gimp is not nearly the clean and usable as its pricey competitors, and some of the more advanced ...

I Love Gimp

What do you like best? There are many things I like about Gimp. I originally started using it to resize photos for our website. Once I started using it more and watching tutorials, I realized there are so many more things Gimp offers. I like that you can create images with transparent backgrounds which helps when we create graphics for our social media posts. However, my favorite thing about Gimp has to be that it resembles Photoshop but is FREE! I think it's an amazing alternative! What ...

Used as a Free Alternative for use on a Mac

What do you like best? I started using Gimp as a free alternative to Photoshop for use on a Mac at an office I was not normally in. I normally use my own equipment but this particular week I was without it and I loved that I could just download Gimp for free and it worked very exceptionally well for a program I picked up for free. I loved that it started up a bit faster than photoshop as well. The fact that it runs a little more ram efficient allows me to use it on my laptop more fluidly ...

GIMP gives you a free, open-source Photoshop alternative

What do you like best? GIMP is FREE. But not only is it free, it is robust and relatively easy to use (if you have some experience with similar programs. I started out with Photoshop CS and switched over to GIMP after several years, and not only was the transition easy, but I'm still finding powerful features that I didn't know GIMP had! What do you dislike? There can be a bit of a learning curve and because it is open-source, the documentation can be spotty and not always complete. ...
