Why you should be using Gimp?
What do you like best? Gimp has made it very easy for web and graphic designers like myself to create logos, designs, and much more with ease. Usually I'd have to scan in a image, clean it up, and it would take hours on end just to get it right. Now I can create an idea in minutes with gimp. What do you dislike? Honestly, I love Gimp, it has so many features I love, but I wish it had more filters similar to Adobe Photoshop. I would prefer a bit more selection of different filters, or ...

Gimp is AMAZING
What do you like best? I like that it has (as far as I can tell all of the features of Photoshop. Plus, it is easy to use and I have had great results with my photo projects. I've used it to build ads for customers, to edit photos for both business and personal use, and in every aspect, it has delivered what I needed. What do you dislike? It was a little cumbersome at first to navigate, but only at the beginning. It isn't so much a dislike, as it is a bit complicated to learn. There are ...

GIMP for Web Design
What do you like best? I am a huge fan of open-source plugins for software, and GIMP does it right. Even though I may only use 5-10 plugins at max I still love being able to find little things that I could use in the future and storing them away for later. What do you dislike? I think one of the things that's missing from GIMP is the ability to easily create basic shapes, it's still possible to create them but it's definitely not as easy as Inkscape makes it. Recommendations to others ...

Recommendations to others considering the product Great tool, inexpensive and gets the word done without the need of expensive software packages. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Picture editing

Get's the job done -- for free!
What do you like best? Gimp is awesome because it has many of the same capabilities as Photoshop, but for free. This is the software I began designing on, as my budget as a student was $0. This software has carried me through thick and thin. What do you dislike? I dislike that it's not as robust as Photoshop, but I really can't complain--the price is right. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I used this as a beginning designer's ...

Excellent tool if you already understand high-end image processing
What do you like best? GIMP has almost every tool that's available in Adobe Photoshop...at an open source price! You can do everything from retouching photos to creating new graphics to creating animations. It's truly remarkable. And, you can open and work with PSD files, which is fantastic. What do you dislike? If you aren't already a skilled user of high-powered tools like the Adobe suite, learning how to use GIMP can be daunting. There are sooooo many tools and options that you just ...

Requires a lot of effort to learn to use effectively but well worth the effort.
What do you like best? It is undeniably powerful for a free tool, offering most if not all or even more than some of the very expensive alternatives. What do you dislike? It's surprisingly un-intuitive at times, the simple ability to make an image black and white for example, while it should be included in the list of colour options, it is instead located under 'Image - Mode - Greyscale' Recommendations to others considering the product If you have prior experience with other image ...

Gimp
What do you like best? The fact that there is a huge price difference between this and PShop is a huge advantage What do you dislike? The thing that I dislike the most about Gimp is that it isnt photoshop. Recommendations to others considering the product personally, stick with PShop. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I tried it as a free download. Im not sure that I used it to the full potential though, and discarded it soon ...

GIMP Review
What do you like best? GIMP is very similar to Photoshop which is makes it easier for me to use. I love how you can go into GIMP for multiple editing options like, resizing images, create a transparent background, etc. It's very helpful when you have to create images for your clients and their websites. GIMP is a very easy tool is use and get use to! What do you dislike? The only downfall of using GIMP is it will crash every now and then and my work will be deleted. It's frustrating when ...
