Outstanding free photo editing software to rival Photoshop
What do you like best? As someone who used Adobe CS when I got it free through my job, I have a lot of experience with high-dollar creative software. In my current position, I don't have access to a license (and don't really need one, but GIMP is more than enough for my needs. It allows you to edit files that come from Photoshop (.PSD and to do most of the things I need (layers, export in multiple formats, etc.. What do you dislike? It's definitely a free product, so don't expect super ...

Extremely Powerful Graphics Design Software
What do you like best? It's hard not to start with the fact that it is free, and open source, and being constantly developed by people who care about this software. Add to that, it strives to do nearly everything that it's far more expensive competitors does, and that's a good formula for a great peice of software. What do you dislike? The learning curve can be a little steep at times (when trying to do something new, but this is to be expected and isn't all that different from most ...

Extremely Capable, Don't Be Put Off By It Being Free
What do you like best? It's not just free, but it's an extremely capable photo and digital image editor. GIMP performs all of the basic operations that you would expect and more such as scripted image manipulations, automate those processes! Even if you have licenses in your organisation for Adobe's Creative Cloud, it is probably worth allowing GIMP usage by those that do not have access to Creative Cloud to perform simple tasks and take the demand off your Design Studio that your ...
