The best free suite of photo editing tools available

What do you like best? GIMP can handle any RAW or compressed image file I throw at it and provides all the tools I need for my web production. What do you dislike? Not all of the tools are as easy to use as other premium, paid-for applications that I've used. The software definitely presents a learning curve and in particular, it's difficult to manipulate different objects sharing the same layer. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? ...

Generic version of photoshop

What do you like best? It gets the job done, basic photo editing software. What do you dislike? It doesnt have as many functions as Photoshop so you can't do more advanced jobs. Recommendations to others considering the product I would recommend it if you don't want to spend the money oon Adobe photoshop. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I've created decent banners for my job with GIMP, it gets the advertising across.

For free it does a whole LOT.

What do you like best? The best feature of Gimp hands down is that it's free. It gives most (not all the basic functionality of Photoshop for the low low price of $0.00. Working with both softwares I've noticed Photoshop has way more special features/filters that make editing easier but ultimately I can live without them. I also like how customizable it is with all the scripts and plugins and the direct input to the community when you want to add new features. Also it works really well on ...

Free photo editing software

What do you like best? Gimp can do just about anything that Photoshop can do, although it is a bit more cumbersome to use. But it is free software download with many features which would be useful to individuals, businesses, and organizations that need photo editing software, but don't have the funds to purchase.
