GIMP - GREAT Photoshop replacement for armature users & those who cant afford professional software
What do you like best? I like the layout - very similar to Photoshop which made the learning curve nearly seamless What do you dislike? There are quite a few features (I'm sure as a result of free software that are not as sophisticated as their Photoshop counterparts. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I have been able to do lower level design with GIMP when I was in a situation where a computer couldn't physically support a ...

GIMP in the workplace
What do you like best? Cross-platform, Low cost, familiarity from years of use. What do you dislike? Even as much as the GIMP has improved in the years I've been using it it still doesn't match Photoshop's support for CMYK. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Often customers submit "corrupted" image files that photoshop will refuse to open, but the gimp will open them and save me from having to recreate the file from scratch.

Free photograph altering
What do you like best? It is a free and good photo editor. Give it a try! What do you dislike? The quick keys are not promptly supportive as they are in different similar software. Likewise it can't do Vector work yet it does rasters with an extraordinary quality. Recommendations to others considering the product Certainly the best free painting programming out there. Give it a shot in case you're attempting to get the hang of painting, they're showing signs of improvement at enhancing ...

GIMP is very reliable
What do you like best? For those who are not able to use Photoshop for any reason, GIMP is the next best alternative that I have ever been able to use effectively. The features are almost similar to many popular photo editing programs and the interface is very spacious. There is a lot of room to work and offers everything you need right in front of you so there's no digging thru menus to find exactly what it is you're looking for. What do you dislike? Some of the program's features are a ...

Great Alternative
What do you like best? The most appealing feature is that it's free, and there are hundreds of tutorials on the web to help you accomplish anything you'd like. GIMP itself is easy to use, once you know what you're doing of course. What do you dislike? I dislike that it seems to crash that worst times - though I have heard the same thing about other photo editing programs. This is why it is common practice to save your progress throughout the process. Recommendations to others ...

GIMP is a great PS alternative
What do you like best? It is powerful and has all the features you need to do what you need! You can also find tutorials easily. Pretty much what ever you need to do with Adobe Photoshop you can do with GIMP. The awesome thing is that it is totally free software. There are plenty of guides online as well. I like the layers and photo editing features. What do you dislike? Since it is free it isn't packaged with all the tools and instructions. It does take some fiddling, and searching for ...

Up to Par
What do you like best? I love the fact that it basically rivals Photoshop (which I also own, but it's free. No hefty price tag that's definitely a plus in many people's books not just mine I assume. It has everything integrated in practically the same way Photoshop does, I'm able to have many of the same editing options which is great. I love it and that I can get superior design with it without the cost of the competitions. I actually need to download it on my business laptop now seeing ...
