GIMP - Edit and create graphics
What do you like best? GIMP provides some alternatives and competes with certain programs which could cost $60 or more. I was brand new to design and to make artwork and edit visual media on PC when I started using the program. By using tutorials and other sources I found in the official GIMP forms, I have been able to study the program in about half the time it took me to study additional, lesser programs. In conjunction with excellent customer support and tutorials, the GIMP interface ...

Great little free photoshop-like tool, but not keeping up with the times
What do you like best? It's free, there are a ton of tutorials, and you can make almost anything that you can do in photoshop. What do you dislike? Can't use it for animation. It doesn't do well with vector graphics, I had to use another application for that. Recommendations to others considering the product: Gimp is a great tool if you need something free and quick. There are tons of tutorials online to help you with whatever you need to use it for. What problems are you ...

An open-source editor that works great
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Aside from being a free program, the thing that stands out to me is the quality of the images made with this program. I am impressed with the tools that come with it, which include vector selection, adjustment layers, and a host of others. All of those have made it possible for my workflow to proceed in a quick, easy, and professional manner. On top of it all, this is so user-friendly and works really quickly. What aspects are ...

Like and Not Like Photoshop
What do you like best? I like that it can do all of the same things as Photoshop but it's free! What do you dislike? I feel like the user interface is a little confusing, not super user friendly. A beginner may download this product to fill in the need of a program like Photoshop and not really know where to start. Recommendations to others considering the product: Watch tutorials if you don't know how to do something, YouTube tutorials are super helpful. What problems are you ...

Original tool designed to create designs.
What do you like best? When I started using Gimp I loved its interface that is intuitive and easy to use, I like it because it offers a range of useful and suitable tools to create custom designs, to create images with good effect, colorful, I have this tool downloaded to my PC and use it as many times as you want. What do you dislike? I consider that Gimp is a good software, however, it lacks features like those offered by Photoshop, but there are add-ons that overcome this lack, in ...

Free but still very much a powerful program

GIMP is multiform and free across Windows, Mac and Linux. Requires less computing power than Photoshop. What do you dislike? Interface is not very not that attractive and little more difficult and confusing to navigate and locate nested features What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? GIMP ...

GIMP: the Photoshop free and easy alternative
What do you like best? The best thing about the image editing GIMP software is that it is completely free and can be used anywhere as it is web-based. For this reasons, it is best suited for small and medium companies who are not going to invest into a full professional package for image editing. What do you dislike? It can be a little bit slower than dedicated software (it is web based and it lacks multi-processors use). Also, some pluging which are very diffused for more famous ...

Powerful free tool
What do you like best? Gimp is a powerful free drawing tool, a few years ago I did not work with it but I have used it again because of the great change they have made, they added an endless number of new functions and the interface has improved a lot. What do you dislike? What I do not like about Gimp. is that it does not allow running the toolbars to the top of the program screen. Recommendations to others considering the product: I recommend that you have a USB drive, the ...

I have tried using GIMP - Given up
I have tried using GIMP and, quite frankly, it is an absolute pain. nothing is simple, the manual/help isn't (helpful). simple things like cropping a photo don't give the results one expects. This is obviously a free application that is hacked together without any real design.
