The free image editor
What do you like best? It's free and open source, it's multiplatform so you can use it on Windows, Mac and Linux What do you dislike? The very best (completely) free Open Source image editing software.
What do you like best? I like a good amount of things from GIMP: first, the interface (in single window mode) is uncluttered, fully customizable and easy to use. Second, it contains all the standard tools one would expect from a professional image manipulation software. Third, it can import and export from an amazing amount of image formats (both raster and vector, though these are rasterized on import). Fourth, it includes a good amount of filters and image effects which can be greatly ...

A Photoshop alternative that takes some getting used to, but gets the job done.
What do you like best? Open-source, free alternative to PhotoShop. An experienced artist with digital editing suites can achieve great things with GIMP, but might be taken aback from the strange interface at first. My mindset when using this was to treat it like Photoshop, but know that it is a different software. I use this for: -Basic Graphic Design -Logos -Changing file type -Drawing (compatible with my WACOM Bamboo tablet) What do you dislike? As far as my purposes ...

Photoshop on a simplified platform.
What do you like best? It allows me to manipulate GNU images, that is, open source. As a platform it allows you to adjust photos, images, play with the editing of them, based on whatever your need is in a very simple way, in the same way it allows me to create without having a photo or image as a base, it has a very good quality and it is free what differentiates it from other similar programs. What do you dislike? It is very little intuitive with the new users, so it generates a ...

Great photo editing free software
What do you like best? The best thing about gimp for me is that is free and have a lot of photo editing tools available, the interface is doing great with the 2.10 version and the gmic plugin have a lot of photo effects to use! What do you dislike? I don't like the fact that it does not have the smart objects as photoshop have, and also you cannot clip layers together in order to separate brush techniques for example. Recommendations to others considering the product: To be ...

An alternative that gives you what you need
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? I've been using this for drawings, changing file types, logos, and basic graphic design. I have to say, I am impressed with what it can do, considering that it is free and open-source. The user interface took some time getting used to but I think that if you have a lot of experience with photo editing software you won't have any trouble getting the hang of using this one. What aspects are problematic or could work better? Seeing as ...
