I love Duolingo

I love Duolingo. I do not mind the promotion. Since it always acts like a game, and has this sort of intrinsic chaos in learning, I make it always relatively fast through a language. I use the clicking promotion as a little break after the courses. I do 2-3 months to finish a language. On the last (400 crowns pluss) month I usually start paying Duolingo as a sort of reward for bringing me through another language. I am an native French speaker now 30…

I am an native French speaker now 30 years in America. Fluent in French English and Spanish. I had 10 years of German in school, lived there 2 years but never really fluent. Duolingo made me very comfortable with German and I also started Italian from scratch during the pandemic. Italian is a natural for me. I do spend 3 hours a day every day. It works.

Learning with Duolingo is a great fun!

Duolingo is an amazing software for learning new languages. If you want to learn more than your native language Duolingo is for you! Duolingo offers multiple lessons with examples and enables you to learn a new language with your own native language. You will learn here while playing with its content! You can monitor your progress too. I highly recommend Duolingo for learning and exploring new dimensions of foreign languages.

Excelente aplicación

Es una aplicación muy buena para aprender idiomas. Tiene Catalán, Guaraní y muchos otros idiomas exóticos. Aunque la mayoría de idiomas solo están en Ingles es buena.

There are so many negative reviews…

There are so many negative reviews here! My own experience here after learning Spanish at University and spending a year in Spain, all I can say is I wish there was an app like this at the time when I studied Spanish. Now I am using it to learn German, which on one hand is easier because there are so many relations to English but on the other hand there is a lot different too. It isn't the best..

It isn't the best... but its the best free one. Can we really complain when its free? I mean, if you don't want to spend money to learn a new language... i can't really see any place better than duolingo.

What do you like best about Duolingo? The gamification system is definitely a plus to remain motivated (and the best I've come across so far)! The stories help you learn idiomatic expressions and words. Even if the learning system is not perfect, you get to memorize words and phrases in a fun way. I will admit it is easier to learn Indo-European languages than Asian languages. What do you dislike about Duolingo? Sometimes the sound of dialogues in the Story section doesn't play on my mobile ...

Really helpful

really helpful for learning the basics of a language, has decent representation in lessons (lgbt+ and poc), and teaches endangered languages.My only complaint is on the app version there are hearts so if you get 5 answers wrong it can really halt the learning, so I recommend using the website version :)

What do you like best about Duolingo? I like how Duolingo makes language learning simple and intuitive by reducing the amount of grammar that you have to deal with and gradually teaches you more and more about ho the language works as you level up skills. This makes learning both engaging and to some level game-like, ultimately turning the experience into something fun instead of dull and boring. It doesn't even feel like work!
