Great app, but no support
Used their paid version for 4 years. I lost my 3 year streak when flying and tried to contact them for 45 days. Not a single reply from support. Just cancelled my subscription - not supporting a Company that has zero support

Duolingo won't make you fluent…
Duolingo helps you to learn vocabulary but when it comes to grammar it's really just a guessing game because it doesn't explain anything. I've reached quite a high level and when its written down I can guess a lot of the answers but I still can't actually converse in my new language. As you get to a higher level it can be difficult to know what answer they want because the English in the answers is bad grammar or something you just wouldn't say in English. Also the heart system is awful, ...

I quite like duolingo
I quite like duolingo. I don't dislike the hearts - makes me concentrate better sometimes. I don't mind the ads - if that means it's free. What I don't like is getting a 'free 3 day trial of super duo' from time to time. I don't mind it being offered to me but I should be able to politely decline. I have my learning strategy based on the free version. Having super duo foisted on me without my consent is bad enough. Telling me it's a free gift makes me very angry.
