Cvent pros and cons

  • End-to-end solution for event management, covering in-person, hybrid, and virtual events.

  • Interface is accessible to all levels of users.

  • Integrates with external tech stacks via open APIs.

  • Manages events from sourcing and budgeting through to reporting in a single platform.

  • Limited custom features, which may be restrictive for users needing more control.

Its robust, but kind of clunky. Not sure if there might be a better product.

What do you like best? Managing attendees, OnArrival, event coms What do you dislike? Not easy to edit within event emails or in Classic. Hard to get specific information; reports are good, not great with what they provide. Creating event emails - not all the fields I'd like to embed are available to choose from. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Managing 100+ events per year

Needs improvement

What do you like best? this platform works for a very large conference with lots of different optoins What do you dislike? That we can't have a 2 page 2 click checkout the user-experience for both the person creating the event and the end user is a disaster What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It connects with Salesforce. But so do a lot of other platforms. so this doesn't make it stand up to solving problems.

Best for large companies willing to invest time and money as well as provides additional tools!

What do you like best? I think the best part about Cvent is the robust amount of information you can build out on a website and registration platform as well as the robust amount of tools you have in a singular service/provider. i.e. communications, reporting, automated messaging. What do you dislike? I definitely think the Cvent customer service could use a little bit of a revamp and enhancement - especially when issues are super time sensitive. I have never had a problem with ...

Overall easy to use

What do you like best? Being able to manage reports for events and reciving emails after each participant registeres What do you dislike? Having so many securities and places to put the 'event planner' email information to make sure confirmations are going to the right person. Recommendations to others considering the product: Click around - usually you can figure out what you're looking for on your own What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Great for those registering, not so great for website creation.

What do you like best? The user's end works well, making it easy for them to register for our events. What do you dislike? The back end for the website creator is not very intuitive. You usually have at least three places to go to just get one thing done.Functionality is especially frustrating considering the price. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The knowledge base has been invaluable for me in creating our event site.

Cvent experiences

What do you like best? The capability to create events websites, registrations, event components, and other applications within one resource. I also like the support feature for basic functions. What do you dislike? I would like more honesty within the sales and implementation team when introducing new products. Not all functionality is operational at the beginning phases of a lot of Cvents products and this is not always conveyed. It is found out after the client is invested in ...

Broken, but the best option

What do you like best? Cvent is easily the most robust option for companies looking to host a larger event. Cvent features website development, registration and payments, apps, on-premise scanning, and more. What do you dislike? Cvent support is messy, slow, and disorganized. Their project managers struggle to communicate and their staff submits messy work. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Cvent has helped us host more than 6 ...

Very thorough, but complex

What do you like best? The venue resourcing tool was very easy and helpful. What do you dislike? It took a very long time to build a page, even when copying from a previous event. It's not the most user friendly, and can be learned, but some items are really hard to locate. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you're needing all of the features it's probably great, but this was too complex for our small team. It's not very user friendly, so you need to be ...
