Simple to use and does what we need

What do you like best? Anyone can easily use Confluence. Creating and editing are both intuitive. It transformed how we work internally. What do you dislike? We've had free plugins in the past that either started charging or were no longer supported after upgrades. Also, I wish we had a hosted version because staying in top of upgrades is not something we have done well in. The last What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Internal ...

Great product for enterprises that is somewhat on a decline

What do you like best? I've been using Confluence for the past 6 years and was in fact responsible for introducing Confluence to my organization. Overall its a great product geared for enterprise users with a good authentication and authorization model. It is user friendly, the ecosystem of plugins is pretty healthy and has a big chunk of the features needed from an enterprise wiki. What do you dislike? Atlassian as a company has sort of "suffered from its own success". The response ...

Good information repository

What do you like best? A lot of customization so pages can be organized the way you want. Good permission controls. What do you dislike? If not organized correctly it can be hard to find what you are looking for, although that is more of an issue with the people setting it up than the product itself. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Information repository for sharing info across different business groups.

Confluence is great if you use jira and can get your team to engage.

What do you like best? Easy to use and connections to other apps are very useful. Was easy to manage and create new pages and add content for others to see and use. Updating and commenting threads were very useful too. What do you dislike? We started getting a spider web of data and information across multiple spaces. The amount of oversight necessary to avoid data duplication and to manage new spaces was becoming frustrating. What business problems are you solving with the product? ...

Has all the potential but falls short

What do you like best? I like that anyone can access the data and that you can easily create pages, sub pages, etc to store your information all in a central database. What do you dislike? I find it extremely difficult to find information once it is stored on Confluence. My entire company uses Confluence and even with the search function, I can never seem to find anything. Recommendations to others considering the product I would look to see if there are other softwares that do ...

Good for team but hard to navigate for large company

What do you like best? Can handle multiple team use. Page customization is quite powerful What do you dislike? Navigation between multiple categories are hard and search function is weak Recommendations to others considering the product If your company has moderate or small size, Confluence might be a good choice since it provide full functionality of page creation and file handling. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Team ...

Powerful, Flexible, and a bit Clunky

What do you like best? Confluence as a whole is an extremely flexible application, with a broad range of configurations, plugins, and overall a good interface. If it's configured just the way you want it, it can be an excellent way to keep documentation, spread information, and overall, just share knowledge. It's got some great shortcuts for formatting that makes editing pages simple and straightforward. What do you dislike? Unfortunately, Confluence can be very clunky in practice. ...

Easy Wiki with a Quick Setup

What do you like best? Confluence is an easy, cheap and remote hosted wiki. It allows for easy WYSIWYG editing as well as Macros and traditional wiki programming. It is versatile and works across roles. What do you dislike? Confluence can be slow from time to time. This is likely because it is hosted and we lose that control. There are also only integrations with other Atlassian products, but because we do not use Hipchat or Jira, we are out of luck. Recommendations to others ...

Confluence: a Wiki for business

What do you like best? Spaces and hierarchical management of pages make it easy to build out well-organized documentation systems that are easy to search and maintain (rather than a mess of documents in a shared drive or similar solution. Good integration with JIRA makes this even more powerful. What do you dislike? The editor is sometimes at odds with the kind of document you are trying to create. Tables in particular can be tricky to get exactly what you want out of. That said, ...
