Confluence for Documentation

What do you like best? Easy to write up fast documentation and then come back to format it as necessary. We use it when we are adding additional information that the whole team or company need to know. What do you dislike? Copy and paste functionality from Microsoft Office applications is often pretty bad. The page will skip around and never seems to work the formatting the way you would expect it to. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Excellent Collaboration Tool

What do you like best? Articles are easy to construct and contain many helpful tools. Tasks are easily assigned tracked. Great platform for storing and sharing information. What do you dislike? Mostly, the calendar: Alerts are limited in their functionality. It would be nice to have a auto refresh on the calendar. If the calendar is left open until the following day, the previous day is still highlighted as current. Recommendations to others considering the product ...

Great way to keep track of information in a wiki like format

What do you like best? It's like wikipedia, but for your company's best kept secrets. Whereas getting information before confluence meant asking that one guy down the hall who referred to the other guy via email who told somebody else the link to where the file with the info was stored...now you can check on a page on the confluence site! What do you dislike? I haven't used it enough to find something that I really dislike since the pros of having confluence outweigh the cons of not ...

Extremely versatile!

What do you like best? It's so versatile and you can create any type of page you like! What do you dislike? There's a bit of a learning curve when you first start so tutorials are a must. Recommendations to others considering the product - Great for project management - Can create templates in case you want to make the same page over and over again - Centralized location for information - Calendar feature is great! - Once you sign up, make sure you do not follow a page ...

Confluence eases tracking between multi-team collaborations

What do you like best? I primarily use Confluence in order to collaborate with other teams in my organization in building a list of current issues and tracking where we are on each issue. It helps to have one central place that all affected parties can use as reference on next steps. What do you dislike? I'm not sure if it's a security thing or what not, but I do not like that another person is not able to add comments on something that I posted. Generally speaking, I'll provide a ...

Confluence a time drain that could be worth while

What do you like best? It is a simple to use intranet/internal blog software that can be used in conjunction with JIRA and other Atlassian product really easily, and if used correctly can be very useful for meeting notes and documentaiton What do you dislike? To really get the best out of this software you should connect this to as many product as possibly in a clear / clean way, that most users understand, as well as a significant investment in user time in terms of making the product ...

Confluence is great team collaboration software for document storage

What do you like best? I like that there's a central hub at work for writing down processes and other information that people within the company need access to. I also like that it's online based so that I can access Confluence whenever I have access to the internet. It's also great at how seamless Confluence integrates with JIRA (our project management software. We also create templates within Confluence for regularly occurring pages we create (meeting agendas, weekly review notes, etc. ...
