A good tool for software documentation
What do you like best? - You can create professional documents - You can check version history of documents - You can control users' access to different documents - Good formatting options - Good integration with other Atlassian products What do you dislike? There could probably be more keyboard shortcuts and/or formatting UI (like Google docs or MS Word instead of having add-ons/plugins/scripts for certain types of formatting. Recommendations to others considering the ...

Allows our team to store knowledge in a central location.
What do you like best? I like the integration with Jira. We have been using a package of Confluence, Jira, BitBucket, and HipChat because they all integrate nicely together. Confluence has given our company a nice central place where we can dump knowledge and others can view it. The cloud hosting has been nice because it frees up our IT staff from having to configure servers and settings. What do you dislike? The macros available when creating content are a bit overwhelming. It can be ...

Great internal communication tool and project tracking
What do you like best? Comments feature - no longer have to email thoughts back and forth to coworkers. Can just drop a comment on a page and tag appropriate parties. What do you dislike? It can sometimes be difficult to get back to a comment to view it once you've left the page. I wish there was a way to "view all" comments on a page in a sidebar. Full featured but expensive
What do you like best? The variety of features that Atlassian provides and the robust updates that they roll out. What do you dislike? The higher cost and maybe the feeling of being overwhelmed when first using it. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It is not much quicker to pull KB articles together and we have shortened the time necessary to fully flesh out our documentation.

Great product for documentation
What do you like best? Confluence makes it easy for our IT department to centralize documentation and put the proper permission structure around it. We switched from solutions from MediaWiki and our old Help Desk software. None of them met the need to house and format our documentation library, but Confluence has simplified this process and is now a tool that the entire department uses. We don't consider the project complete until the implementation team has recorded their documentation ...
