Chime Mobile Banking pros and cons

  • The intuitive app design makes it easy to send money, check balances, and manage accounts on the go without visiting physical branches.

  • Instant notifications for transactions, low balances, and direct deposits help users stay aware and in control of their money.

  • Built-in features let users round up transactions or transfer small amounts into savings automatically, supporting better financial habits.

  • Users get paid up to two days early when they set up direct deposit, improving cash flow for bills and budgeting.

  • Some users report slower response times or limited support channels compared to traditional banks.

  • Access to certain ATMs may incur charges unless users use Chime’s partner network or get fee rebates through membership requirements.

This is the single worst financial…

This is the single worst financial institution I have ever seen. Over 2 hours to activate a new card, even though the app says it's already working. Transactions constantly declined, even when my balance is 5 times the purchase amount. Customer service is absolute atrocious. Using the live chat function in the app, reps don't respond for almost an hour. Calling into the call center, the agents were not helpful at all. When asking to speak to someone higher up, the agent tried to talk me out ...

Wish I could give 0 stars

Wish I could give 0 stars. This inconsiderate thirsty bank holds people money for 7 days. I didn’t even pay at the pump and a $20 hold was applied to my card, these losers say it will become available 7 days, for what Chime???

In a year it’s gone completely downhill and keeps on getting worse!

It’s incredulous to me how difficult it is to get to a live person at Chime. Chimebot (their phone system) aggressively blocks consumers from reaching the queue at times of high calls, which lately has been *all the time*, I suspect due to the types of errors I’ve been having with delayed direct deposits and pending charges not falling off in the quoted time. Then, when you eventually hoodwink the bot to let you through, you either have to be transferred because it routed you to a wrong ...

Chime's customer service is terrible

Chime's customer service is terrible. I called to report a fraudulent transaction on 7/29, and was told that the merchant had been blocked. However, on 7/31, the same merchant was able to withdraw money from my account. When I contacted Chime about it, they asked me to file another dispute for the same transaction, which is unnecessary. I advise against banking with Chime.

I have been a chime member for 8 months…

I have been a chime member for 8 months now and I always had a good experience with chime until today. I have deposited many checks with chime with no problem until today. I took the photos of the check and they verified that everything looked good and then 1minite later I get a notification that the check was not accepted. I called the customer service number and they looked into it and said the check required additional information so don't try to deposit the check again and they referred ...

Chime no longer honors Veterans

Chime no longer honors Veterans, or active duty military. I opened my account with a military id over 3 years ago and had this same account verified using the same military id. Because I couldn’t verify myself they locked my account and told me that I won’t be granted access until I go out and get a another form of id which in the state of Ky can take up to 30 days. In the meantime I’m being evicted and my car is being repossessed because they won’t allow me to access my military pay which ...

This bank is so misleading

This bank is so misleading. It doesn’t accept ach payments from external banks but claims to. Support is typically rude and incompetent. Don’t walk but run from this bank.
