Busuu Reviews in October 2026: User Ratings, Pros & Cons

I was just a boring monoglot until I discovered busuu.com.

I'm trying to improve my knowledge of Russian and Japanese with busuu.com. On the whole, I have found busuu.com helpful. I find busuu.com to be more helpful with vocabulary than with grammar. I'm an experienced language learner and I realise that language teaching is not amenable to a "one-size-fits-all" approach. I think that the biggest drawback with busuu.com is that the lessons have obviously been written in one language and then translated into other languages without due regard to ...

Too verbose

Busuu is good in the overall but could be better. The learning process through busuu is too slow.

easy and fun

I enjoy using Busuu. The various exercises and courses are easy to understand and complete. I like how I can get native speakers of the language I am studying to correct my exercises in a short time. The only reason I didnt' give it 5 stars is that when taking out a 12 month contract I notice that it will just keep on going after the 12 months is up until I contact Busuu. This puts the onus on me to stop payments. I'd rather I got a reminder when my contract is nearly up and then decide if ...

Very interactive website and fun way to learn.

I am enjoying learning a language with Busuu because of their bright colourful interactive teaching methods. However I believe for me to really achieve a confident oral language, they need to include a lot more listening / interpretation practice exercises. I find I am becoming quite confident in recognising the written words and phrases, but not confident in speaking or understanding the spoken language.

I am quite pleased with the way I'm learning Spanish, but it is not easy!

I find that if I do a bit every day it helps me along.

The best language learning program I've come across yet.

I'm trying to learn Turkish. I've tried Teach Yourself, Linguaphone, Pimsleur, Biki and Rosetta Stone. Busuu is certainly the best language learning program I've come across yet.

This is a very good method of learning.

This way of learning is excellent. It allows you to go at your own pace and when you have a problem you can go over the lesson as many times as it takes to learn it. The fact that you can interact with people who speak the language you are trying to learn is just great I have combined this site with the Collins Dictionary and that makes it a lot easier for me as I can use the Translator before I post my work to see if I am making any errors. A great site.

Fantastic Online Language Learning Social Community

I have been with Busuu for about 2 years now and it has been so beneficial for me, acting very much as a supporting language learning website alongside my University studies of Spanish and now French. The Social Community aspect is brilliant, I have made fantastic long-lasting friendships with people from the other side of the world to me and of course, my language skills have really improved. I like the way it's set out, it's clear, the company communicates well with it's members and ...

Always interesting and amusing.

I am always motivated to continue my study on Busuu and the volunteer help I receive from others in your community is very helpful and heartwarming. You have a very well constructed site in which it is easy to spot those who are serious about their studies and those who are only occasional users. Only issues I have are sometimes the site gets stuck when I want to navigate to the next frame but that may be because of heavy usage on your site or on the internet.

Easy learning made fun.

I like the friendly interface. The units are well thought out and presented in digestible chunks. The community involvement in commenting and correcting exercises is a nice touch. I did however, receive an inappropriate (suggestive) comment but I was able to block that member. I like the PDF downloads: they allow me to do "hard copy" reviews/ revision.
