Basecamp pros and cons
Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.
Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.
Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.
Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.
Lacks robust customization options for advanced users, particularly in file storage and integrations, which can limit flexibility.
Minimalist feature set may lack advanced capabilities like complex reporting or kanban customization that power users might expect.

Basecamp! Seriously one of the best project management tools out there!
What do you like best? As a developer and team lead, I enjoy the simplicity of setting up and using Basecamp... but my favorite part is the ease in which multiple projects can be tracked. I don't want to spend my time using PM software- I want to get the job done. This makes it easy! What do you dislike? Really, there's nothing off hand that I dislike about Basecamp. Recommendations to others considering the product The trial version is *so* easy to implement and begin using, ...

Great way to organize to-do lists on a medium-sized team
What do you like best? I like the ability to create to-do lists with easily arrangeable lists (drag and drop, and the ability to see all projects in an alphabetized list at once. Also, you can use the starring functionality to only see important projects, if you have a lot. The ability to collaborate and share documents is also really nice, but we mostly use sharing Google Drive links instead of static documents. You can also see things that have been checked off by your team, in case you ...

Surprisingly Easy
What do you like best? I like that all communications, tasks, and information can be held in one place for easy review later. It's ideal for multiple projects happening with varying timelines. What do you dislike? I wish that there was Slack integration and that it also offered a dependencies option. It's not the best at assigning a project to multiple people/managing collaborative efforts and there isn't an option for prioritizing To Do's. Also: When we switched from Basecamp 2 to ...

We use base camp as an interactive program to keep everyone informed inside the company walls.
What do you like best? That it is a smaller scale program compared to face book. What do you dislike? The lag it has once an item is posted until it gets distributed through out the office. Recommendations to others considering the product Send a prompt of some sort to encourage the users to review the data. Our use really was to make the day fun. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are using it to replace a weekly ...

Great for Group Efforts!
What do you like best? How easy it is to communicate with your colleagues and clients for various project needs. What do you dislike? I understand why we get an email notification for every post on basecamp, but I hate that it can flood my email. Recommendations to others considering the product Give users an option to opt out of some email notifications once, instead of on a per post basis. I'm not sure if that option already exists, but if not I think it would be useful for ...

Great for Sharing Ideas and Files
What do you like best? I like that we can make lists that we can work on together as well as tasks that we can track progress What do you dislike? I don't like the layout. I believe there is a more streamlined way to display the information and organize the files. Recommendations to others considering the product Definitely give it a shot! It's worth it! What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use BaseCamp to communicate with ...

Great software to manage a large project with 10 or more employees
What do you like best? I like that it allows you to chat and organized projects to keep things simple. I also like that you can create different message boards, and tasks in a project What do you dislike? Since the new update, I feel like it is becoming a little too cluttered and hard to use. Recommendations to others considering the product Just take their tutorials so you can figure out how to use this project management software to its fullest potential. What business problems ...

Eliminates e-mails and excessive file management
What do you like best? I love that I can collaborate with colleagues on specific projects or efforts, complete with task list and file area. It eliminates excess emails. I like that we can break each area out for each team. What do you dislike? I don't like that it's not prioritized and it's sometimes hard to follow what's happening across all project areas. I will there was a stream for all upcoming activity or a more prioritized dashboard. Recommendations to others considering the ...

Excellent Product and Quality Service
What do you like best? Basecamp has the features that we need to keep our teams and clients organized. What I like best is that we can introduce a client to Basecamp and they are up and using it in minutes. The UI is not complicated and it still has everything you'd need. What do you dislike? One change that I dislike is the security. In the past Basecamp gave admin rights to setup users/change passwords. Now that is handled through email and the admin only has the ability to send that ...

Good project management tool to get it started
What do you like best? It allows me to assign tasks to the members and reminds them automatically. What do you dislike? It doesn't come with a gantt chart, so that I can't see which tasks impact other tasks. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Project planning that involves multiple teams. it's easier to have a centralized place that's easier to manage and navigate than a huge spreadsheet.
