Basecamp pros and cons

  • Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.

  • Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.

  • Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.

  • Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.

  • Lacks robust customization options for advanced users, particularly in file storage and integrations, which can limit flexibility.

Basecamp

What do you like best? What I like the best about Basecamp is how specific you can get with tasks and teams. What do you dislike? The downfall of Basecamp is it can take awhile to fully understand. There are a lot of areas to go through and not everyone who uses it has enjoyed that. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Getting specific with tasks, teams, deadlines, and keeping organized.

Basecamp keeps our events from imploding

What do you like best? Robust, detailed shared task lists, project definitions, and discussions. Everyone can see the whole project and have accountability to do their own part that we're depending on. It includes calendars, files, and all the stuff we need to really dive into getting an event together. What do you dislike? Basecamp is a little too featureful for personal task management use. So I have to operate 2 systems - one for the team and one for my personal projects and items ...

A great option for working with remote teams

What do you like best? Often I work with people all across the US and sometimes across the world and Basecamp makes it easily to collaborate when teleworking. What do you dislike? I wish there were more specific email reminder options available. Perhaps approval chains. It seems that often everyone just gets everything with is mostly a good thing but can we overwhelming. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Collaboration while ...

For basic collaboration

What do you like best? I like that it integrates with email so that most users never have to log in. What do you dislike? I felt it was only for very basic projects and collaborations. There were not many advanced features offered by other products / competitors. Longer length projects get very confusing to follow. Not able to categorize or segment into phases well. All documents fell under "documents" which was not very organized. What business problems are you solving with the ...

Basecamp Makes Project Management and Collaboration "Just Works" Simple

What do you like best? Basecamp Makes Project Management and Collaboration "Just Works" Simple - Basecamp is PM and collaboration software for non-techie folks and just works, all the time. Fantastic fanatical support, and excellently priced. Ownership truly care about the company, its people, their customers and businesses, and their product. What do you dislike? I dislike not a thing about Basecamp. At this point with 37Signals being in business as long as they have, they've got this ...

Classic Remote Collaboration Tool

What do you like best? A project hub that comes to life where to-dos can be assigned and tracked to keep the project active even when collaboration is remote. Great to have a calendar view of to-dos and all the recent history in the project. What do you dislike? Lacks a social feel of newer messaging apps i.e. Slack. There's no quick way to interact and ping someone for help or to get document or clarify their question so those become more emails or taken to a messaging service. ...

Very orderly and suitable place.

What do you like best? Basecamp is very orderly, its functions are in a suitable place and at the naked eye to complete each of the projects that are being carried out. What do you dislike? The project phase is spectacular, but the team communication that Basecamp tries to give, fails completely, because many times it does not allow creating work rooms to integrate people. Recommendations to others considering the product Do not use the equipment communication system, use Basecamp ...
