Basecamp pros and cons

  • Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.

  • Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.

  • Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.

  • Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.

  • Lacks robust customization options for advanced users, particularly in file storage and integrations, which can limit flexibility.

  • Minimalist feature set may lack advanced capabilities like complex reporting or kanban customization that power users might expect.

Very comprehensive for teams doing projects

What do you like best? I like that you can have different headquarters (aka team and create completely different projects and customize what you want within each project and headquarters. Also, knots everything is customizable. What do you dislike? The look. It is bland-looking and uninspiring. I like the apps used in our company to look nice and clean. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Events, Managing task items and accountability

Easy to Use and Affordable

What do you like best? We were looking for a project engagement software and I used this with a different company we were partnered with. I liked how easy to use it was so our team looked into the price. It was affordable for our group, you don't have to pay per person, did a great job at doing what we needed to accomplish, and didn't bill per person. What do you dislike? The software we used previously would integrate with google calendar, where as this one does not. What business ...

Basecamp Review

What do you like best? Easy to use. Calendar feature helps our team plan accordingly. What do you dislike? I would like to be able to have more than one project on the free account or have some other way of separating out tasks by team members. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? To-do list and project organization. Basecamp has helped us stay organized and on top of workload.

Really Amazing prices.

What do you like best? Basecamp has really amazing prices, the plans have very novel benefits that increase teamwork and the development of projects successfully. What do you dislike? I do not like the way it is added to each person in team communication, it must be added one by one and there is no way to add everyone at one time and save time. Recommendations to others considering the product Get the most out of Basecamp, read each of its innovations to improve the use of the ...

Too Basic

What do you like best? Intuitive. Interface was really cute and fun. What do you dislike? At first, the interface was really cute and fun. Turns out it wasn't very engaging though, and people ended up ignoring the scheduling aspect. Which is what we were using it for. The interface was strange because you had to have it up all the time. An app would probably help this out a lot. Recommendations to others considering the product We found it very hard to implement, because we have an ...

Interesting for simple projects

What do you like best? Integration with Google Files, no training needed, activity history, advanced search What do you dislike? Can become a mess if the team is not aligned on how to use basecamp and where to put documents. It sometimes takes many clicks to get where you want since information is spread out over so many sections. Recommendations to others considering the product Make sure information in Basecamp is not redundant elsewhere What business problems are you solving ...

Basecamp in Basics

What do you like best? I like the interface with colleagues from various departments and connecting with people without having to schedule multiple meetings to work on some pretty elaborate projects. What do you dislike? I sometimes don't like the approval process or waiting for others to move forward on a task. The notifications can sometimes be a bit irritating too. Sometimes I want them on and other times I don't need that many. Recommendations to others considering the product ...

Good project management system

What do you like best? The interface was appealing and easy to use. You could create messages directly to team members or a group. it was easy to keep track of projects going on and the status of them. I loved that you could create an approval process in BaseCacmp for other team members to look at and you would get notified once they approved it. That eliminated the hassle of just sending it via email and having to keep double checking to see if they had gotten to it you. What do you ...

Organized Client Communication

What do you like best? I love that conversations can happen in threads, keeping everything organized. Unlike email, everyone on the project can see all correspondence so all are on the same page. It is also searchable. What do you dislike? If people use it differently, information can get lost in the threads. Recommendations to others considering the product A great resource for client communication as long as you establish the correct way to use it. What business problems are you ...
