Alexandria Review
I have used Alexandria Automation Software in 2 school libraries now, and it has overall been a positive experience. You get a robust program for the price, and the software does anything you would need in a library. However, it is not always intuitive, and even after 2 years I still feel like I am learning things about the software. I use the self-check out interface in my school, and that is very clear for people to use, even young children. I also think that running reports and utilities ...

Difficult to navigate, too many unnecessary steps.
As a first year librarian, I feel like I struggle to navigate my way through the system. Also, there are too many steps for some actions (i.e. Holding a books) I also feel like the program freezes and becomes unresponsive more than normal.

Upgrade is an issue
We upgraded to the online version this fall and have not had a good experience. It takes more clicks to accomplish things. The researcher is much less user friendly. The cataloging doesn't let me do things I did before. The fact that you can't simply click on authors or series in researcher is a huge issue that makes the product much less helpful.

Alexandria is a good system to use, especially for a high school
I have only been using Alexandria for two years, but have had an excellent experience with them. Before this program, I used Horizon for over ten years. I am still learning new tricks for Alexandria, but the limited interaction I've had with the customer service representatives has been very productive. (I usually just look up the query in the book. I can't say the online help tabs are my favorite.) My biggest ...

Alexandria Review
Alexandria is a very friendly system. I have very few problems with the software itself. I do wish that it was a little more integrated with other systems that we use as a school. It would also be very helpful if it were more accessible outside of our server. Sometimes this causes issues with mobility.

Easy to maintain
I have been using Alexandria for 15 years now. It took my county a long time to upgrade to the online version, but I am glad we did. It makes cataloguing and upkeep much easier. I have had minimal problems with the system through the years. It is sometimes difficult to locate and format the reports exactly as I want them. However, I have never been completely unable to figure things out. Customer service is usually friendly and helpful (luckily, I have not had to call often). They have been ...

Very Satisfied
I have worked with Alexandria for many years and have always been very satisfied. I have used their tech support several times and I have been very pleased with how they walk me through the problem to solve it.
