What is Windowing Functions?
What does 'Windowing Functions' mean?
Cut an endless stream of events into bounded slices so that aggregates like counts and averages can actually be calculated. Common shapes are tumbling windows that do not overlap, sliding windows that do, and session windows that close after a gap in activity. Without them, a stream has no natural point at which to compute a result.
