What is Vector Search?
What does 'Vector Search' mean?
A retrieval method that compares numerical embeddings of content rather than matching keywords, so results are ranked by semantic similarity to the query. Text, images or audio are converted into vectors, and the system returns the nearest neighbours in that vector space. It underpins semantic search, recommendation and retrieval for AI applications, and is often combined with traditional keyword filtering.
