What is Split Payments?
What does 'Split Payments' mean?
A payment arrangement in which a single transaction is divided across more than one destination or method. That can mean routing portions of a customer's payment to different recipients, as a marketplace does when it pays a seller and keeps its own commission, or letting a buyer pay one order with two cards or a card plus a gift balance. The split is handled at processing time rather than reconciled afterwards.
